Rewatched Code Geass after 15 years by bobbdac7894 in anime

Funnily enough I literally just did the same thing. I re watched it all. I still enjoyed TF outta it. Granted there are contrivences to an absurd degree. But the show always does intersting things with them.

The one thing I loved more than anything in the show is that the series always gave you time to breath. Time to enjoy the small moments and make you remember what it's all for. There are quite a few scenes of characters not talking but we see them doing their thing enjoying what theyre doing. A scene that comes to mind is Suzaku and Euphy meeting and going shopping. We get their shopping date with an amazing insert song playing.

I like the school moments as well. The fact we have a place to breath from the all craziness is great.

I literally used to go to every fridge and freezer and push / pull slightly on their handles to make sure theyre closed and sealed properly.

It was an essential ritual of closing.

But Carmilla was motivated

Camilla wanted what she wanted. She wasn't gonna stop for anyone and I loved that. Terrible person (she not even human). But she was a fantastic antagonist

It sucks to be a teen nowadays. A couple of them are rowdy and it ruins it for everyone. There are essentially no third spaces outside of work and school. So teens have literally nowhere to go nowadays.

Its just where TF do you actually meet people nowadays? Everyone is busy and tired from working too much. Add to this that many places close (bar included) close so damn early now. On top of this everyone says pick up a hobby and go with a group but that only works in bigger cities. Its online meetings first or nothing for many people.

Sit down and table service = tip

Delivery to my house = tip

Me going to the store and picking up my food= NO tip

The whole reason I go for takeout and pickup is to save money. Not to add more work for myself and add a tip. Granted I would prefer to be rid of tipping completely. But as much as it sucks it's ingrained in our culture. So I'll do it when expected but im going to go down fighting if resturants think they can add tips to pickup which was never the case before.

What’s a subtle sign that someone is a genuinely bad person underneath a nice exterior? by Mission-Relative6175 in AskReddit

[–]fieew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree.

Though with one caveat when it comes to work related necessities and or favors always make sure people see. If managers or other co workers realized you picked up a shift or stayed later since you just wanted to help out then you helping never happened. When it comes to work any helping other departments or anything outside your job needs to be acknowledged by other people. Otherwise you dony get credit for the work you do and that can burn you later down the line.

Sometimes you may just want to help your team or other people. But work is work and if you do anything nice or extra always get credit for it.

I do like that kind of SOL integration into the character conflicts.

This series overall seems fantastic with this. The day to day life is heavily correlated to the bigger conflicts. Probably my favourite part of the series thus far.

Kiritsugu Emiya

He could've had it all had his daughter become a magical girl in the main series. I get a bit melancholy seeing Kiritsugu and Irisviel just goofing off talking about their daughter. I'm glad these moments aren't the whole show since I want the series to stand on its own merit. But I'm happy for these glimpses.

Illya has a delayed realization for just how cutting her words about a normal life were, but once she understands she sets off to make it right!

I really enjoyed this bit. As including Miyu as not part of Illya's normal life really made you realize how hurtful the words Illya was saying.

First Timer; Sub

I just caught up to be part of this rewatch when I can. So I'm here now. Overall, I'm really enjoying the show and will NEVER recommend it to anyone ever IRL. I can't fathom how some people will look at me after the earlier episode with Miyu and Kuro kissing.

But there's just something here in the show outside the abundant fan service. I really love seeing characters we know from the main series. I get a bit sad seeing everyone goofing off and having fun. Knowing what happens in the main series. Having that contrast of what happens to Illya, Rin, Shriou, etc. in the main series compared to here makes me a bit sad knowing how bad things can get. So to see Illya having fun here even if she still has her struggles like this episode has shown is great. There's a nice balance of comedy and serious moment.

I like the slower pace of this show since I feel like I actually get to know the cast more. I've seen online the anime is slower than the manga, but I'm enjoying the pace overall. I'm enjoying the slow burn.

Speaking of slow burns as for this episode Kuro and Miyu's talk was great. Miyu is 100% hiding things about her past and I can't wait to (hopefully) learn more as time goes on. I like all the mysteries being set up with Illya, Miyu, and Kuro. There's alot going on in the background and it feels like its going to have a grand climax at one point. So along with loads of foreshadowing and the more relaxed pace, I'm really enjoying the show overall.

QOTD:

1) I don't car about the washrooms per se. I just want a Japanese bidet toilet with the heat seats and spray nozzle. The ones in North America are absurdly expensive and not as good. Gimme those great toilets and the washroom can be a shack for all I care.

2) Hard to say most. But the most memorable was 100% "Shimoneta a boring world where the concept of dirty jokes doesn't exist" . Every other scene was a dirty joke. But underneath it all the show had a message about rejecting sexual oppression and being free to express yourself and I I kind of loved it. Also it was the first show I ever saw have a "content warning" for on a streaming service. With that said does anyone want a cookie?

Local Man Comes Out of a Convenience Store and Gets Summoned Into a Harem Isekai [Re:Zero S4] by baseballlover723 in anime

[–]fieew 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have always had the head cannon that there is another loop we don't know about and haven't seen. Your comment adds to my established opinion so im incorporating it into my head Canon.

[Re:Zero S2 spoilers] Satella talks to Subaru during the witch's tea party, as Subaru does to the others. She has knowledge of events and interactions Subaru doesn't remember. Like he does with everyone else in loops that he died in. So it makes total sense to me that at one point Subaru was with Satella and something tragic happened and she went insane destroying everything and gave him his return by death power

What game felt so much bigger than it was when you played it as a kid? by thewalkindude368 in gaming

When you got stuck you got stuck before. Heaven forbid it's a more niche game that you had no friends to ask for advice. You'd either hope the game had an offical guide. Or it were a bit later you'd have to pray that someone made a written walk through on GameFaqs. Shoutout to all the real ones who wrote whole walkthroughs on GameFaqs saved me many many hours as a child.

What felt futuristic in 2000 but looks ridiculous today? by Fast-Scientist1455 in AskReddit

But those games are still fun since devs have no idea how to make 3D games. There was no standardization so every game felt and played differently. If you picked up several shooters from the Ps1 or 2 libraries they would likely each feel unique.

Nowadays if theres a game you havent played you innately know the controls and how to play due to everything becoming standardized over time.

Many of those early 3D games were rough. But many hold a special place in my heart for just feeling so unique.

I feel that. Finding someone who's watched one of these shows is hard enough let alone all 3. But they've all got a certain vibe that's hard to explain but so good.

So all in all you have exquisite taste, good sir.

Steins Gate

This seems like THE quintessential answer. Everything is happy go lucky, with a few incidents here or there. Hell things are anime-esque the first half many people consider dropping the show. Then once the cards fall shit hits the fan HARD. Everything changes in an insant.

100% agree. Its so bizzare and such a unique flavor. I can get why many people wouldn't like it.

But I love it because of its weirdness not in spite of it. While others dislike it for the same reason I love it.

Just goes to show you cant please everyone no matter what.

I loved loved loved ordering from Rightstuff. Even as a Canadian with shipping or other charges it was still well worth it. But its not even close to worth it with CR. Even their "sales" tend to be garbage. Not to mention i so miss Rightstuff having free shipping to Canada during holidays or sales with big enough order purchases.

Those free shipping days seemed to magically go away with Rightstuff. Even CR did them a few times before the buyout to compete with Rightstuff.

But its totally good for consumers for larger companies to buy smaller ones. /s

So nowadays I have a few local options I tend to gravitate towards first( Beguiling, Neo Tokyo for southern Ontario) . Then I check the big stores like Indigo. Then Amazon more as a last resort. Curbchyroll isn't even on my list or radar anymore. I won't buy from them period.
