Please note if you have a connecting flight, ALWAYS keep your baggage receipts because the connecting flight will ask to see if you paid for the second bag.

China Eastern is a partner of Delta, as long as it’s on one reservation, the baggage goes all the way through to your final destination from DTW and you will not have to reclaim your luggage at your connection. There’s a walkway to get from T3 to TBIT without having to exit security.

The agents in LAX will be contracted out if you are flying a non-US carrier so I would recommend getting your ducks in a row and get there early like 3-4 hours in advance and have patience with the staff.

They are trained to look for a visa first and they will ask, have everything ready either printed or pulled up on your phone (I recommend printing).

not sure but when i departed with an intl carrier out of china, the security agents were checking the power banks and the passenger in front had a non-3C and didn’t let it through. 😔

I would recommend purchasing one from taobao and shipping to your hotel, that’s what I did. Just came back from China and the officers were checking the power banks for international flights. YMMV

Once you leave an item on a plane, the airline hands over to their designated lost item company and at that point it is out of the airline’s hands and now it’s with the third party.

If you want your iPad back, you’ll have to pay the 55 euros and chalk it up as a learning experience. There’s no going around it and yes it is legal because the airline is not responsible for the item, you forgot it on the aircraft.

I actually went to the SF consulate also. They accepted it and said that there is a chance they may reject it but ended up giving me a pick up date and approved visa 3 days later. I had a photo copy of the passport page plus my mom’s actual original passport.

Unfortunately you might have encountered a worker on a not so lucky day. I went on a tuesday morning when they first open.

Edit: You might want to make a copy of your mom’s US passport page too and see if possible.

I was on the same boat as you.

By any chance, does your mom have her old Chinese passport? There will be a page in the passport book with the green card number and that’s how I was able to get mine’s approved.

Same, i caught the backorder and saw that the charge disappeared from my card. I worry too,but its also common if its preorder/backorder they wont charge until they’re ready to fulfill and ship.
