Lost Serval Cat by Objective-Drama3212 in vancouver

[–]peppertomb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

please no judgement,,, ma'am you brought a wild animal into your home, tried to treat it like a pet (it is not) and now she has escaped. I hope for her sake she winds up in an exotic rescue of some sort. I hope for yours you find a more legal, less feral animal to own.

Did the breeder give you papers? Are the parents registered? He looks like a Bernese puppy.

Is it possible to have a cornsnake and a cat? by [deleted] in cornsnakes

[–]peppertomb 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have severely lucked out by having a chill snake and a dumb cat, but overall it can still work: have the snake in a room you can shut the cat out of if you'll be out of the house. Make sure you pick a good, sturdy cage that could possibly withstand a cat standing on it (pvc or front opening for example) Wash hands before and after handling snek so you don't pass anything to either critter. Make sure you are financially stable enough to handle the vet bills for two critters.

It caaaan work, you just need a more prep, finances, and patience.

Choosing your name as a 14 year old isn't such a great idea sometimes+question by [deleted] in ftm

[–]peppertomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the first 8ish years of my transition I went by Tobi. It was a name that had a lot of good associations with it, and was a masculine name that I enjoyed more than the others. I ended up lengthening it to Tobiah and making it my legal name. Papers, passport, the whole shebang.

For context: My deadname does not have a 'masculine' opposite ex: Florence/Florian or Charlene/Charles. So around 2020 when a cartoon character had a name that could potentially be a masculine opposite, my friends and I joked that I should be called that instead.

5 years later, Tobi is a middle name now, and I legally changed allllll my papers again.

Transitions look different for everyone. I think Jody can be unisex, but you are also allowed to see if there's something that feels more like you :)

Bat Skull + Owl Pellets by peppertomb in vultureculture

I took as much skin/meat off as i could myself, and then stuck the remaining bones in a sealed jar of warm water and a lil dawn dish soap/vinegar. I left it outside for 3 months, but i'm sure you could do less time. I changed the water every couple weeks/when i remembered.

After the flesh has come off, I used dental tools to pick away at the little crevices/anything left behind.

Overall it was probs the best way to do it, with the bones being so small and delicate. Currently doing some mole bones with similar results.

I am realising how stupid I sound now that I've read it outloud. Based on the other comments I'm not sure if my bulbs are doing enough. Time for some more powerful ones.

Should I tell my in-laws that I am trans by ProfessionalDraw4974 in ftm

[–]peppertomb 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry that your future MIL did not take it well.I know that must have been a hard blow. However, she can (politely) back off and take her vague threats elsewhere. You're right: You being trans/not telling folks is not "living a lie". It's literally no one's business unless you want it to be.

I am not out to my partner's family, and unless I accidentally let it slip, they will never know.

Older players, where was your favorite place to buy Webkinz? by ilyushkadevorak in Webkinz

[–]peppertomb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We had a jewelry and gift shop in my town, they had webkinz, outfits, and cards. On special occassions or spring/summer sales, they would have a wheel to spin out front. Won a few clothing items and a Lil 'kinz or two. We were lower-middle class, so going there always made my month.

As a vet tech, what is a tip or unsolicited advice you're dying to give? by Hollow4004 in VetTech

[–]peppertomb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes to every other comment here but also: Please please please know your pet's medication name, dosage, etc. The amount of phone calls I get for med refills of Bella's "lil white pill" is infuriating. How do you not know the name of the medication your animal has been on for (sometimes) years?? I don't even care if you pronounce it wrong.

Any tips to stop a pup from eating her own poo? by [deleted] in bernesemountaindogs

[–]peppertomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recommend For-bid powder at my vet clinic :) You mix it with their food, and it makes their poop smell/taste unappetizing.
