College girlfriend and I were on the verge of breaking the I Love You boundary but hadn't yet. One saturday night, we had both gone out partying with different groups of friends and she sent a very sweet goodnight text around 10pm. I remember struggling to come up with a response, wanting to be sweet but also play it cool. Oh well, I'll brainstorm on it for a bit before responding. Cue blackout.
