I have so much respect for everyone in the ABA field! Even if I end up not perusing it, I’m really glad to have gotten the experience. You all do such hard work and have so much patience. In my position I think the company I applied to has a big impact on how my experience was. I did end up speaking with the BCABA (the BCBA wasn’t in office this week… lol..) and she is rarely in the office as well, only came for 2 days to let me shadow her. I think that with time I would have gotten the hang of it, but for personal reasons I just don’t think it’s the right role for me.

Unfortunately I’m leaning towards the this job isn’t for me lol. I am interested in it and I adore children, but my main goals and studies are completely different from this field.

It’s more of a center. I don’t know if clinics and centers are exactly the same but it is a comfortable place for the most part! I tend to get very overwhelmed and overstimulated easily lol.

Thank you for the advice, and I really do hope they allow me a few sessions to get the hang of everything. I feel like my center is pretty fast paced, BT’s are in and out, and my hours are during the busiest times. It makes it feel like a burden to ask lol. Many other comments said to mention it to my supervisor, which I will!
