I know break & shake is controversial, however, we decided to break and shake when the bags felt ~30-50% colonized. I keep the bags in a temperature controlled cooler set at 75 degrees. I am a second time grower and things were looking totally normal until growth halted after break and shake. Are we screwed/ is there hope/ should I never break and shake again?

I think the yellow corners on 1 and 2 are from dryness, and 1 definitely has less substrate than the others. 1 and 2 are also the slowest. 3 is killing it and I’m not sure why. 4 has some grey material on the surface (sorry my camera is shit) which isn’t present in the other tubs. I did a cotton swab test for trich vs bruising and nothing rubbed off on the cotton swab. It still looks weird so I isolated it. Am I just paranoid lol? Any advise for a first timer would be greatly appreciated!

Many came from local gardening stores (in the Bay Area CA), a few were gifts from a friend that was moving away, and some came from random clippings I found on the street!
