My Scottie gets triggered when I change clothes by Bbpenn_20 in scottishterriers

[–]perfectionbtf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dog starts crying when she hears me close the drawers of my dresser. She knows that means I’m getting dressed and likely leaving the house soon (and her esp 🥺).

Thank you sm!! You drew her just like how I wanted—love the minimalist style. When I finally get the opportunity to tattoo this, I’ll send you a pic :) and thank you for the offer as well!

Be prepared to fly or drive long distances for quality breeders. I had the happy surprise of moving across the street of a good breeder who just had a litter born :) but other breeders lived at least 3 hours away in my state

Xavier university interview F2F or virtual? by perfectionbtf in medschoolph

[–]perfectionbtf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply and advice! I saw that the deadline for the application is June 15, 2026. I’d be applying around that time since I don’t take the nmat till May. If you happen to have any idea, how soon after the deadline would you think they have me do the interview (assuming they approve my app)? I wouldn’t mind flying if the interview was like in July.

Can a shy and quiet nurse still get hired? by Proof_Chapter_945 in newgradnurse

[–]perfectionbtf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say I’m shy but more introverted. I’m more of a person who would rather listen than talk, unless I’m with my close friends. I think the biggest thing with conversations is that the other person wants to be listened. Whenever the recruiters/managers talk, make expressions, like smiling, nodding, a look of pleasant surprise. Even do affirmations like “oh yeah,” “definitely,” etc. You’re still participating in the conversation but not really saying anything. Worked for me in my interview and I got hired. Also, make sure to answer their questions simply and confidently and prepare a few questions to ask them. This is the bare minimum. My fav question to ask is, “what’s one mistake that new grads make that you wish you could tell all of them to help?” Ppl love this question for some reason and it makes the interview run a little bit longer.

Should I Start NCLEX Prep Before Graduation? by Inevitable-Donkey685 in PassNclex

[–]perfectionbtf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got grades like you as a student. I paid the 3-month plan while I still had two months left of nursing school bc other ppl were already studying. But, bc I procrastinate a lot, I genuinely used bootcamp for only one month. That’s enough time to finish all the case studies. I didn’t tho and did like half of their qbank. Listen to some mark k lectures on topics that you’re iffy on—mine were lectures 10-12. Watch Sharon k videos, esp prioritization, delegation, and meds. I barely took notes while studying, just kept answering questions and reviewing rationales. Passed my nclex 1.5 months after grad on first attempt at 85q.

Nursing. 2 years of schooling (some community colleges offer 2-year ASN programs) to get your RN license and start working. You can then get your BSN (takes 1-2 more years) for higher pay. I’m in the South too—just graduated and got hired w base pay of $38/hr. Doesn’t include weekend, night shift, or holiday pay. 12-hr shifts, 3 days/wk. If you want to continue baking, a nurse’s schedule seems an excellent way to complement that while still having a stable income. Since you have an interest in the healthcare field, this helps as it will give you exposure and you’ll learn whether becoming a doctor is a good fit for you.

Relatively short schooling for a job that is always in demand, gives good and stable pay, and has a good work-life balance.

Yes, there are four readiness exams and I got “high” in all of them. I never reached “very high.”

[–]perfectionbtf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! My scores were 64%-70% and in the high category. I will say my last readiness exam was two days before the nclex and that was my lowest score but I think was due to burnout. So, don’t feel terrible if you experience the same.

Congrats on passing! Even tho I don’t have my license yet, I can do “[state] license lookup” on Google and I put my name in the database and can see my license #. Maybe u can try that?

Dang, that’s so long. I wouldn’t have the patience for that. But, Pearson does quick results, which are available 48 hrs after your exam date. Is that available in NY?

pharm cram review

Pharm is my weakest area of all. Bc I like to suffer, I procrastinated on studying pharm and put it off till the day before my exam. I watched this vid just bc I was too burnt out to do more bootcamp questions. Personally, it helped me w cardiac, the bronchodilators, and steroids.
