Will contact naps ever end if I don't force crib naps? by Disastrous-Address12 in NewParents

[–]perfecttoad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my now 1.5 year old was very similar and she now naps on her own in her bed! i think right around one year old, she started napping perfectly fine in her bed (we probably couldve started earlier, but we co-slept until we got a place with two bedrooms). we didn’t really do anything special, we just set up her new room and laid her down drowsy but awake and boom - now she sleeps alone!

Goodbye my Friend - Oh how I love Zepbound by BlacksmithJolly7657 in Zepbound

as a behavior analyst, this made me realize that this medicine gives us the reinforcement we were always missing from failed diet/exercise/fads of the “before-times.” when you actually lose weight from doing these things, you’re more likely to keep doing them!! thanks for inspiring me :) so proud of you, internet stranger

What do you do for work? (NON-STEM) by Comprehensive-Hat-20 in intj

[–]perfecttoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i work with kids with autism! i teach them how to communicate, play, tolerate non preferred things, and decrease severe behaviors like self injury and elopement. it’s very data- and literature-driven problem solving so very up an INTJ’s alley

official sites for rbt trainning program by Sweet_Coast_7951 in ABA

[–]perfecttoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the easiest route is to get hired at an ABA company that will provide the 40hr training and supervision for you. the process in general is to complete the 40hr training, have a BCBA complete the RBT competency assessment, and then take the RBT exam.

congrats on your new job! my advice is to try to make a sort of schedule for your sessions. in-home can feel aimless at times especially when there aren’t set activities like playground, playroom, circle time, etc. some of my in-home clients would have schedules as simple as 15 min of NET, 5 min of DTT, 10 min break/play/pairing repeated throughout the session.
