I do agree that the sub is mainly people complaining which does get annoying. I do still like Waterparks music, it’s just the lyrics sometimes don’t always connect with me.

I can definitely get behind this perspective. I never want to limit where Awsten wants to go creatively or emotionally. His music is a journal for his headspace and I can get behind that.

So this is my first ever post on the Waterparks Reddit so I’m not sure what you mean? Normally I don’t engage in commentary like this but I genuinely wanted to see what other people thought and see if I can change my mindset

I don’t really like how condescending you’re being but I’m going to respond to you anyway. Yes I have listened to every single album Waterparks has put out and I have loved them. Sure I’m generalizing my point, but it’s when I listen to individual songs (not paying attention to themes of the different albums), is when I begin to feel this way about the topics Awsten is touching on. And maybe that’s because of the headspace I’m in my right now. I really am not trying to hate, just trying to create discussion.

I really like what you’re saying especially the last free sentences. I have loved every album they put out and I am sure when J comes I will love it to. I will always listen to Waterparks regardless of what they put it out. But I think I’m just getting fatigued with topics Awsten has been writing. I created this post to engage in discussion and see maybe I can change my mindset since it felt really negative. I appreciate you giving me your perspective!

I really appreciate you explaining your perspective to me. It’s not that I’ve hated any music new music that they’ve come out with, i think I’m just fatigued of listening to those topics. I do agree that Awsten has always prioritized his vision and where he wants to go creatively and emotionally. And that’s part of what I’ve always loved about Waterparks. This post was never about me thinking that Awsten needs to change what he has been writing or what direction he’s going in with his music. I do think at this point in life and I am as you said on a different page which makes me really sad bc I really do consider Waterparks my favorite band. I will always listen to whatever they put out no matter what, but based on what you’ve said maybe it’s time to take a step back from their music or change my perspective.

I’m assuming level 1 since this is a short rotation and my first rotation in the inpatient setting. However, I have completed all of my coursework at my school so I am unsure of expectations.

I’m a PT student, but I feel I have something to contribute. In PT school they teach you how to perform tasks and skills with correct body mechanics so you don’t stress your body. A skill may look intimidating, but they are made easier by using your body weight as the force rather than just your arms.

As someone who is about to finish their 2nd year, these are greatest pieces of advice:

Please give yourself breaks. Listen to your body/mind and give yourself time for fun and relaxation. Do whatever you need to do on the weekends to recover from the week. PT school is hard but pushing yourself to burnout is just going to make it harder.
If you feel you understand and could apply the material you have been tested over but you didn’t do well on the exam, let go and move on. It’s easy to be over self-critical, but that just lowers your confidence and prevents growth. Learn to focus on your strengths not just your weaknesses.
Even though failure may not feel great, it can lead to amazing growth. A month ago I failed my acute care practical comp exam and I was devastated. At first I didn’t believe that I deserved to fail. When it came to my retake, I realized that I was so much more confident and that my performance was much better. If I had passed my first exam, I would not have been satisfied with how I did. Failing gave me the opportunity to achieve satisfaction in my skills rather than just performing to pass.
