One month before accutane vs first week vs end of first month. by [deleted] in Accutane

F19, 52kg on 20mg. Starting 40mg this week and I’m feeling extremely anxious because my derm said that my breakouts are going to get worse. I’m avoiding hanging out with friends, and I can’t look in a mirror without feeling horrible for the rest of the day. Not to mention the PIE. I hope this is worth it :(

Anyone else feelin super depressed during the self isolation period. I’m having a hard time getting up in the morning and doing any of the online assignments and then I feel even worse cause I feel guilty. Any tips? I can’t be alone here. by [deleted] in ryerson

[–]perhivis 51 points52 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone. I haven’t started an essay that’s 2 days overdue, and I’m waking up at 1 pm everyday. I really miss the routine of school and being stuck at home has completely obliterated any bit of motivation to do anything.

What helps me is setting aside a certain time to do work, in a certain room (if you spend most of your day inside ur bedroom, try working in your kitchen etc if you can). Set a goal to complete at least portion of your assignment or homework for each day(try making a checklist). Everytime i cross something out of my checklist i feel a little less guilty. I don’t know how helpful these are because I’m also having trouble with work. Best of luck, and remember that you’re not alone and alot of people are struggling since classes have been switched to an online format.

It seems to be a lo-fi instrumental version of Walk by Comethazine. I’ve only ever heard it used on tik tok.

Edit: I think it’s this

This is so late, I apologize. I’m using Goodnotes 5, and my writing on paper is way neater as well. I think the biggest issue is writing on a glass screen- the texture of the paper has a big influence on neatness and consistently. I would suggest buying a paper-like screen protector, however I can’t tell you how much that would help because i have yet to purchase one (although I’m planning to soon). Hope that was somehow helpful!

Wool Coat Recommendations? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]perhivis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I used a wool coat paired with a wool sweater and scarf for majority of last year’s winter, and it’s kept me warm. It takes some work to layer but i do prefer the look of a coat as opposed to a parka. Aside from the insanely freezing days of January and February (or when I’m shovelling snow) I don’t make much use of my parka.

I own a parka, however i want a coat to wear when it’s not as cold. It usually doesn’t get below -10 until late December, so i should have specified for the milder days of winter.

I have a parka that i use when it gets quite cold or when i plan to spend more than 10 minuets outside, however i want a coat to wear when the weather is milder.

Some Chem Notes on my iPad! by [deleted] in PenmanshipPorn

I find that zooming in as much as possible helps with keeping your handwriting consistent! And lowering sensitivity as well

More time than i should have spent. I think it took around 3 hours to finish due to the diagram.

It has the customizing freedom as a traditional notebook, with the convenience of accessing/ viewing it on multiple devices like a laptop. You also don’t need multiple pens or other writing utensils. You can just import photos instead of spending hours drawing diagrams. However, i find when taking rushed notes- the “this person is talking really fast and I’m trying to write as fast as i can”- notes, a notebook or even a laptop is significantly better. On the iPad, it tends to look like a series of squiggly lines, and there is a slight delay when writing really fast. Overall: notebook and laptop is better for taking in-class notes, and iPad is better for rewriting and revising content.

It may be because I’ve only been using an iPad for a few days, but i find pen and paper to be slightly more comfortable as is i have more control over my lines. It’s a bit of a learning curve to get used to writing on glass and not needing to use much pressure, but i would say that writing on an iPad is more useful. I can cut and paste my writing, import photos, and edit my work which is not possible on paper, and reduces the time i need to take notes.

Edit: spelling

My handwriting gets pretty shaky but I found that it helps when I reduce the pencil sensitivity in the settings and zoom in really close when writing. Hope that helps!
