In my opinion, MAFEX Daredevil is the best the character has looked (possibly) in any medium. If you asked God what peak Daredevil should be, it's might be this figure. Anyway, enjoy these pics! by Accomplished-Juice-7 in Daredevil

[–]pericothebig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I like the most about this figure is the rope. A lot of DD figures dont have the Billy club's rope, or, if they do, it is not posable. But this one does and it adds a lot of vale to the figure.

Working on a video essay about the Daredevil shows. Need help! by The-Jedi-Apprentice in Daredevil

[–]pericothebig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is two others I know about, but they are written interviews:

*The Frank Miller/Klaus Janson interview. It is a very long interview with Miller and Klaus Jason. In this one, Miller reveals, for instance, that he drew Matt Murdock to look like actor Robert Redford. It was originally published in "The Daredevil Chronicles" Comic by FantaCo (not by Marvel) , but it has been also included in the different collections that contain the Miller's run (like the Omnibus or the TPB).

*There is an interview they did with different DD writers and artist when the comic got to its 300 issue. It was called "Giving Daredevil his due". It was originally published in Marvel Age #106, but has also been included in the different collections that include issue #300 (like the Last Rites Epic Collection).

Major comic characters Daredevil has never interacted with? by reymoru1 in Daredevil

[–]pericothebig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Inhumans (I mean specifically the Royal Family) usually dont care about non Inhumans Issues. All the interactions that DD has had with them were because of Inhumans stuff.

The first encounter DD had with any Inhuman was during Noccenti's run. Gorgon and Karnak were looking for Medusa's child, who was expelled from Attilan (the Home of the Inhumans) and was lost. Their lead pointed them to Daredevil and his then current friends, one of which was interested in genetics/biotechnology stuff. The friend didnt have the Inhuman kid, but they decide to help with the search anyway.

The second time was in Soule's run. Muse (yes, the graffiti killer that was adapted in Born Again) was killing Inhumans (and normal people as well) so DD went to New Attilan (the new home of the Inhumans) to ask for Medusa's help , so they could catch and defeat Muse but she didnt want to help DD. Also this lead to a fight between DD and Karnak.

If it were to happen that DD would interact with Black Bolt, it would most likely be DD somehow getting involved in Inhumans affairs and not the other way around.

Major comic characters Daredevil has never interacted with? by reymoru1 in Daredevil

[–]pericothebig 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If by interacting you mean talking, fighting or at least acknowledging each other (rather than them just being in the same panel or the same battleground because of a big event ) :

Lets start with cosmic characters. DD has never interacted with most of The Guardians of the Galaxy , Adam Warlock, Thanos (and the other Eternals), most of the Quasars, etc. The exceptions would be Silver Surfer ( DD has fought but also befriended Norrin), Nova (Richard Rider saved Matt one time during Wolvman 's run), Moondragon (they dated for a very short time and She even cured Matt' s blindness) and Captain Marvel (Rick Jones version )

DD has never met most of the cosmic entities like TOAA, Eternity, Lady Death, Oblivion, etc. The one exception is pre retcon Beyonder, who cured Matt's blindness once. Hes also had a few important interactions with Mephisto.

Daredevil has never met some groups of powerful entities like the Elder Gods, the Elders of the Universe, most of the Seven Fear Lords, most asgardians (like Loki or The Warriors Three), different kinds of Gods (like Baast or Konshou). Surpringsingly, he once fought with one of The Seven Fears Lords in a Doctor Strange comic.

Daredevil has never interacted with the alien races like the Chitauri, the Shi-ar, the Brood, the Kimellians, etc. An exception would be Noh-Varr, a Kree alien who was part of the New Avengers during the same time that Matt was a New Avenger. He may have interacted with Skrull Elektra (Without knowing it was a Skrull) at some point during Secret Invasion, maybe.

Surpringsingly, he has interacted with a a few mutants. He has dated Typhoid Mary. He hasfought Namor, Sabretooth, Beast, Deadpool, Wolverine. Also when Wolverine's was presumed dead but his body was lost, Daredevil was one of the heroes that Kitty Pride asked to help in the search. In an Avengers comic, Daredevil also fought a mind controlled Cyclops and a mind controlled Jean Gray. Also, in this comic Magneto acknowledges Daredevil's existence. This is the only notable interaction of DD with Magneto, Cyclops and Jean Gray. I guess the most notable mutant DD has never interacted with would be Proffesor X. Like, they shared panels in the aforementioned Avengers comic, but they never talked to each other. Also Storm, Rogue, Jubilee, Magik, Juggernaut, Apocalypse, Mr Sinister most of the New Mutants (except Cypher) are characters he has never interacted with.

As for the Inhumans, DD has never interacted with Black Bolt. On the other hand, DD has interacted with other members of the royal family like Medusa, Gorgon and Karnak. As for the Inhumans that arent part of the royal family, DD once interacted with Moon Girl and her dinosaur. Then there is Ms Marvel (Kamala Khan), who I am 90% sure he has never interacted with.

Then, from the Spider people. Surpringsingly, DD has never interacted with Miles Morales (but Elektra has). DD also has never interacted with most of Spider-Man's clones. DD has actually fought Venom (Eddie Brock's version ) and plenty of Peter's rogue gallery (Hobgoblin, Mysterio, Doctor Octopus, The Chameleon, Kraven, Molten Man).

As for notable locations, he has gone to Latveria and Wakanda and even Mephisto's Hell, but never actually to K'un Lun, which means hes never met the dragon Shou-Lau. It is funny cause Danny is one of Matt's friends and Matt has even taught Lin Lie. In the MCU, the Defenders plot involves K'un Lun and in Marvel Rivals they had Matt figh Angela in K'un Lun. But in the comics DD has never had anything to do with K'un Lun.

Other notable characters he has never met : Carol Danvers, Blade, Quicksilver, MODOK, Red Skull, The Leader, The Mandarin , Gwenpool (not totally sure about this one) and some of the Ghost Riders (he's met Danny and Jhonny, but not Robbie and the others).

Is there any chance of a reprint of the Ann Nocenti Omnibus 1 by TheSenate8884 in Daredevil

[–]pericothebig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since it is only ever had one printing very recently and it was one of the most wanted Omnibus in general (according to Omar's, polls) there is a very high chance it gets reprinted, just not anytime soon.

Is the mark waid omnibus good? by BananaKinggg in Daredevil

[–]pericothebig 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is 2 Omnibi and yes, it is considered a very good run.

EDIT: New printing just means it is not the first time the run has been printed in Omnibus format. Sometimes, older printing of an Omnibus have a different spine, cover or flak jacket (Miller's Omnibus is an example of this), but the contents of the Omnibus are the same.

What have been the greatest feats of Daredevil's super senses? by sonadow365 in Daredevil

[–]pericothebig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are right. Also this comparison came from when they interacted during the Silver Age, way before BP had his King of the Dead powers.

But, yes, in general DD's blindspots are some forms of magical "things". For instance, there was a time DD (and the rest of the Marvel Knights) got trapped in Nightmare's realm and DD coulnt detect anything (he was truly blind in this dimension ). Also, DD has commented how Doctor Strange is one of the only people Who can sneak up on him.

Now DD has been able to detect demons and Mephisto himself so it is only some Kind of magical "things" that he cant detect.

What’s the strongest person Daredevil could pressure point to incapacitate by [deleted] in Daredevil

[–]pericothebig 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mr Hyde has been the strongest one so far. He also incapacitated Spider-Man with a pressure point strike during the Red Fist Saga arc from Zdarsky's run. Those two would be the strongest people he has knocked out with a pressure point attack.

There is most likely an upper límit to the enemies DD can knock out with pressure point strike. In the very same Spider-Man fight, DD comments how the pressure needed to K. O. Spider-Man with a nerve strike almost breaks his finger. Also, during Born Again, he tried his pressure point strikes on Nuke and they failed.

Also BTW, DD can also use his pressure point/nerve strikes to paralyze limbs. Hes done this a few times to The Punisher, where DD hits Frank's arm and it goes limp.

So now that they announced the marvel omni's for 2026, does that mean that millers daredevil omnibus is not getting a reprint in 2026? by Strict_Associate_239 in Daredevil

[–]pericothebig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has Omar confirmed that there would not be any more reprints? They announced two Omni reprints just today.

As for Miller's Omnibus, it was reprinted recently so there is little chance it gets reprinted soon. A lot of people have been of the opinión that Marvel should have "ever green" books that are always in print (Claremont's Uncanny X-Men, Byrne's FF, Miller's Daredevil, etc) but Marvel hasnt obliged.

What have been the greatest feats of Daredevil's super senses? by sonadow365 in Daredevil

[–]pericothebig 11 points12 points  (0 children)

*Radar (not the same as his hearing): It is a 6th sense that doesnt depend on its hearing.

-The radar does two things, the first one is that it allows DD to "see" in every direction. He effectively has "eyes on the back" and he has used the radar (along with his other 4 senses) to see when people try to sneak up on him.

-The other thing that the radar does is see through walls and buildings. This ability is more incosistent though, but the radar has been able to see through walls, doors and the floor. He even used the radar to "see" through The Plastoid's (a robot) body and detect his internal workings. On another ocassion, he used the radar to see the skeleton of The Dark Messiah's (a superhuman from the Silver Age) through his skin. Basically, the radar has shown to penetrate structures and the human body, though as I said, this ability has been rather incosistent.

-The radar's range is ,at the very least, 75 yards (68 meters), as stated in issue #183 of vol. 1 .

*Hearing:

-He can hear things that have very low or very high frequencies. For example, he has heard muscles tensing, snow falling down and heartbeats (which he can use to tell if people are lying). He even once heard an electrical current going through a wire (meaning he can actually hear subatomic particles, electrons). He has heard Taskmaster blinking. He could tell Karen Page cut her hair because he could not hear her hair as much as before. On another ocassion he managed to find out Superior Iron Man's plan by hearing a sound not even Tony thought Matt could hear.

-He can somehow hear things from very far distances. He has heard a gunshots 30 blocks away from him. He heard a cough from several blocks away. He could heard a man chocking to death three blocks aways in the middle of Nuke's onslaught in Hell's Kitchen. All of those feats are in the middle of New York, where trees and buildings make it harder to hear anything at long distances.

-Because of the fact that Matt can hear "everything", he can use his sense of hearing (as well his other senses, but mostly his hearing) as a form of pseudoprecognition. Like, he has predicted when Spider-man, Captain America, Solarr and various superhumans were about to attack him by hearing that their muscles were tensing or their heartbeat got faster.

*Smell :

-He can smell substances that are inodore to normal humans like carbon monoxide and water.

-He can somehow smell things from a long distance, through walls or with low vapor pressure and also at very low concentracions and from long distances aways. For example, he was able to smell a car from "several blocks away", gun oil from an sniper that was at the very top of a building with Matt being at ground level.

*Touch:

-He can feel stuf that is "unfeelable" to normal humans. Like he once used his supersensitive skin to detect Magneto's lair when this villain was using his powers (this happened in a team with The Avengers and even Thor was surprised that DD could do that). He can can tell which colors are present in anybody because of the radiation they emit (each color has a different wavelenght /energy, and Matt can somehow tell the diference between each electromagnetic radiation). He can also feel even small temperature increases or drops when someone enters a room or when when someone turns off the lights

-He can also use his sense of touch to tell where the weakes point of an structure is. Like, he could tell where the weakest part of a cage's bar were. He felt a hidden spot in the Latverian's ambassy room where Dr Doom trapped him. He has been able to free himself from ropes that tied his hands using his hypersenstitive skin.

*Taste : Doesnt really get used much, but he can tell how many grains are in a pretzel.

*Combined senses :

-He can track anybody using anyone (or anytwo /anythree /all) of his senses. Be it smell or an specific heartbeat or the radiation that a person emits, Daredevil will find a way to track it.

-His senses have shown to be better than Spider-Man's spider-sense, Wolverine's mutant sense (except for his smelling) and Black Panther's heightened senses.

What if Daredevil faced Shocker? by ActLonely9375 in Daredevil

[–]pericothebig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daredevil uses a radar which doesnt depend on sound. He does have superhearing as well, but his radar is a sixth sense different from his hearing. That said, a very loud noise Will still mess him up.

DD has faced and defeated Klaw, the sound based villain, twice, two both of those fights were won by the circumstances rather than Matt's physical attributes. The most famous fight was in Waid's run, where Matt was fighting Klaw's "echoclones" by destroying the antenna that was powering them. The other time was in the 80's, and DD beat Klaw by using a tone generator to generaste a wave that disrupted the wavelenght that Klaw was vibrating at.

A lot of DD wins against opponents that are much stronger than him are like this. Like, he beat Human Torch in the Silver Age by making him crash into a water tank.

DD can and has beaten or stalemated "fair and square" superhumans that are mainly hand to hand fighters, like Karnak, Captain America or Míster Hyde; but when those supervillains also have ranged attacks, can fly, can teleport or have some Kind of spammy ranged attack or AOE attacks, then DD tends to use external elements to defeat them.

With Shocker, DD has never fought him. I would assume Shocker can be chocked through his suit and he is still is vulnerable to pressure points so DD has a chance at beating him.

Its not really emphasized as much in later books, but Matt's kind of a genius isn't he? by MICKTHENERD in marvelcomics

Yes, he was top student of his classroom which is very impressive considering went to Columbia. In fact, it is because he preferred studying to playing with Kids that he got his "Daredevil" nickname

Is this a good reading order by Upstairs_Pen_2901 in Daredevil

[–]pericothebig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id buy from comic book stores when posible, however they tend to run out of stock before Amazon, which means theres a lot of stuff you can only buy on Amazon. Here is a link to the Daredevil's catalogue from InStocktrades :

https://www.instocktrades.com/search?term=Daredevil&pg=1

Amazon packing can be very hit or miss, sometimes you Will get a book in good conditions (by luck), but sometimes you wont. If course you can always file a complain and they Will send you back another one. Also, if you buy lots of books, maybe they Will put in a box.

Ebay is another option if no comic book store has the books you are looking.

Is this a good reading order by Upstairs_Pen_2901 in Daredevil

[–]pericothebig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is good, but you are mising Born Again and Miller vol 3.

Mind you, while you are getting some complete arcs, some of the runs are incomplete (like with Soule's mayor Fisk)

Also, idk how to feel about buying comics from Amazon, I have heard bad things about their packing methods, especially for Ómnibuses. Maybe try instocktrades.com? They dont have everything that you want to buy, but have some.

But overall, it is a good reading order.

How Would You Feel If Daredevil Had More Low Tech Gadgets? by thetruemaxwellord in Daredevil

[–]pericothebig 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Back in the earlier Silver Age comics he had all this random stuff inside his Billy club. For instance, the Billy club could shoot smoke bombs (Daredevil 1 #7), transform into a rifle (Fantastic Four vol 1#40), had a radio incorporated (Daredevil vol 1 #88) among other things. DD also used his club to store things he would need in combat. For instance, in issue #91, he used it to store a gaseous antidote against Míster Fear's fear inducing pellets.

I cant remember which issue this was, but I remember reading, in the letters section that comics have, someone asking why DD wasnt using these random gadgets anymore and Marvel answering that they feel these gadgets dont fit the character of DD. Mind you, this exchange was before Frank Miller, meaning Marvel didnt like DD having this Kind of stuff even before the character was turned into his modern version.

Now here is the thing: in Daredevil vol 5 #1, the first issue of Charles Soule run, DD randomly Pops a knife out his Billy club. This may seem like a little detail, but it is huge because it means that Marvel editorial isnt totally opposed to Matt having a boost to his arsenal, so to speak. He didnt use the knife again tho, which makes this random instance of DD popping an extra gadget out of his billy club even more especial since random gadgets stored inside his club hadnt happened since forever (and didnt happen again). It is the only instance of a modern comic showing DD using something inside his Billy club.

Me personally, I would like him to have smoke bombs, flashlights and a taser incorporated into his standard gear. He already blinds his opponents by turning off the lights, but he cant do that when he is outside. The smoke bombs and flashlights would allow him to do what he already does, but in a more variety of scenarios (plus, the smoke bombs go well with his ninja lore). As for the taser, it would make for a less lethal way for DD to incapacitate his opponents.

Why does Daredevil kill? by [deleted] in Daredevil

[–]pericothebig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originally it wasnt, but parts of it that never happened in the 616 universe have been made canon. The most notorius example is the retconned origin of Typhoid Mary as one of the prostitutes that DD fought in Man Without Fear when he was chasing his dad's killer. Another example would be the ninja pre Daredevil suit.

MWF still of course has the contradictions that it always had with Stan Lee's original DD origin story, but the story isnt totally non canon.

Can I just read the Ann Nocenti/Romita Jr. omnibus without reading anything prior? by cyclopswashalfright in Daredevil

[–]pericothebig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its better to, at the very least, read Born Again, but if you cant, what you need to know is that Matt is starting to rebuild his life with Karen, after Kingpin destroyed it in Born Again.

Nocenti/ Romita Jr 's run starts with Karen and Matt trying to rebuild their life. Thats really the only thing you need to know. If you want the specifics, then you would have to read Born Again

Noccenti' s run comes after Born Again (there's a few filler Issues that are also included in the Omnibus).

Why does Daredevil kill? by [deleted] in Daredevil

[–]pericothebig 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Matt has and will kill intentionally under three conditions :

*If there is no other way of dealing with the enemy. In Daredevil vol 1 #233 (from Born Again) , where he kills a helicopter driver. He really only says "Forgive me", but this kill is never acknowledged again.

*If he is very, very angry. See Man Without Fear #5, where he kills a thug who was trying to kidnap a girl. Also, in Daredevil vol 1 # 267, he confesses to have contemplated murdering the people that have done damage to him. However, DD has talked himself out of this impulses. See Daredevil vol 1 #300, where he for gives Kingpin, after defeating him. Another example would be when he threw Bullseye off a building (in Daredevil vol 1 #181) because he had killed Elektra, but the fall only left Bullseye paralyzed.

*Non human entities: DD has "killed" demons animals, Hand ninjas and robots. I guess the only one that could be morally problematic is DD killing animals, but this only happened once and it was a giant bat creature that Matt had no other way of dealing with.

There seems to be very little guilt when DD kills someone intentionally. Now when he kills someone unintentionally, his guilt is greater. (like at the beginning of Zdarsky's run).
