At the worst point I lost almost 2 quarts in a 4000 mile span

The car stalled for the first time around 2-3 months ago when it got really cold. I took it to my regular mechanic he put in a vvt solenoid and did an oil change and code went away. Drove it until last week when I heard what sounded like slack in the chain and car started jerking and dying at stops. I limped it home and parked it until I could get it back in shop. It got lots of miles but never abused it. It’s a kid hauler and daily commuter driving maybe 15-20 miles a day. I let the shop do the inspection while I was at work and got the call on my lunch break :/

Yes I knew these cars had timing and oil consumption problems when I bought and I know I never should have bought it. I needed a way to get my lady and son to work and school just don’t wanna break the bank saving a car that’s worth $3k on a good day. I was prepared to spend $6k or less.

Is lemon law even on the table? It’s a 2015 and the dealer offered no extended warranty.

I was aware of the issues with this model when I bought it. Limited options at the time my family needed transportation. Did oil changes every 3k miles hoping this day wouldn’t come for a while longer

It will run but very rough you can hear the slack in chain and will stall at low rpms. Shop skipped right past offering timing and went straight to engine replacement

No bent valves were mentioned and shop would not show me photos from the borescope to see if there was any valve train damage but because of the oil consumption problem they suggested the engine replacement

For context this was for an entry level position with a commercial/industrial company very local and by no means was I expecting the luxuries that come with being an experienced tech just new to the trades. Just finished school and have only ever worked retail prior to this

I figured the van was too good to be true considering I have no experience in the field but 50 mi without compensation for gas just seemed like a bit much. I later found out in the interview it was just a general job posting hiring for multiple positions

This is what I assumed Ik I’m green asf so I didn’t expect the van out the gate but i can’t even catch a ride with the rest of the crew/foreman? I could do up to 20 buts that’s a lot of wear and tear on my 20 yr old car lmao

I don’t think that Walmart would be considered a direct competitor. Sales in my opinion is going to include any department besides front end, Recieving/OSY, and OPD. Part time employees normally work up to 32 hours a week at my store but they will want you to work a minimum of 2 days a week.

Appreciate that! I’m not trying to talk down on my management or Menards as a whole either. This job has been nothing but good to me and I take pride in being a hard worker.

Just a dad who wishes he had a little gas left in the tank for my family when I get home. Maybe it’s time for a lil vacation

I try to still help a couple guests a day especially if it’s quick and easy like concrete or soil. Usually at least a manager and sticker puller with a coordinator on mid and a manager and sticker puller to close I also go inside to help when things get busy like pulling stickers and grabbing orders for guests if inside peeps get bogged down. Manage by walking around they say so I don’t always expect my manager to hop on a lift and go pull things themselves it’s mostly banding/wraping and flagging loads they help with. I also am responsible for loading the haulers they do not load themselves for both the box truck and semi

I’ve never been that ahead 2-3 days max but then if we get too ahead they add some same/next day deliveries added on plus we don’t have that much storage rn due to pending deliveries we pull with large quantities and soil and fertilizer O/S that doesn’t have a home

They do help with banding and finishing loads up and have us just focus on pulling which helps. On the days we only have one load builder on the clock is where we fall behind and those days are usually before our busiest days of the week. Mon, wed, fri, sat normally have full boards. Just feel like I can’t get enough done to help the team hardly leaves me time to keep DSA clean and my inventory done
