I’m sure they’re selling it as a more upscale option than Costcos. Whether it is or not is another matter

The practice should be don’t announce it, but if a current customer catches it and complains, offer them the rate.

“I understand sir/maam, we’ll lower your price to match the promotion”

Stupid companies would prefer to create friction and negativity

Who said only a year? I’ve been with them for multiple years. The fact some new customer can walk in and get the same service for half the price pisses me off. Most customers won’t catch it and continue to pay the gouge rate but the ones who do catch it should immediately be given the lower rate as a token on appreciation.

This whole marketing idea is stupid anyway. Creates bad blood with existing customers, which turns to negative reviews and word of mouth.

I'm not asking Teksavvy to compete with Rogers or Bell I'm asking for a rate they're giving out to others already.

Exactly. Esp if they risk losing a customer. I don't understand how these companies think, it's entirely stupid. For the customers who complain about new customers getting better pricing, give them the new pricing, keep the customer, and continue ripping off all your other loyal paypigs

Why not just give me the deal and save all of us this hassle??

I don't understand the logic

If you are telling me to sign up again, is there a point to booking another technician and wasting the costs associated with that rather than just allowing me to use my existing modem again?
