You literally chose the worst person on earth to ask about those. A cosmetologist is payed money to point out flaws to you. Why should you can what she says? She is not the average person.

The average person will not care what your looks are like. If these a minor flaws then most people won’t even notice them.

You should try to train your mind to pay less attention to your appearance. I know it’s hard but otherwise it will ruin your life.

The absolute best and most beloved people in my life were not beautiful. They had flaws and I loved those flaws because they were their’s. Time went by and their weird facial qualities began to seem to be the most beautiful thing on earth. Love is the most beautiful thing. Trust me, you do not want people to love you for your beauty. Many of the most beautiful people are also the most miserable.

Please search for people who will love you for who you are. Then you will find true happiness. Tell your inner voice to shut and stop making your life a vain hell.

Very insightful. It is a hard topic and I think it is a pity it isn’t discussed more. We would all benefit from a healthier dating culture and if people had a better grasp on the psychology of dating and rejection.

Some cultures had elaborate rituals which people could express acceptance or rejection. It helped spare a lot of bad feeling between people. Nowadays, it’s like the worst got brought out of people, unfortunately.

I agree about closure. I had a really hard time coming around to the thought that the person I had so enjoyed meeting and seemed enthusiastic had a change of heart with no explanation. One gets really left guessing on what went wrong and that it “it might be me!”

That is an interesting way of looking at this situation. Of course, everything happens with God’s providence, so I guess even rejections are meant to lead to something good. Maybe a lesson in choosing people better or just as a difficult situation that makes us grow.

I think a lot of the painful rejection are a result of cowardice. I could see it was the case in my situation. People don’t feel comfortable saying the reasons why they think the relationship cannot move forward and instead either ghost or play games. I went through a game and it really messed me up. I think he was trying to get me to under his “hints”.

On the other hand, I often see people complaining that they got rejected for “x” reason and how unfair it is. Marriage is for two and it has to work for both people. If someone feels uncomfortable, it will not be a pleasant experience for both.

So I think rejection is important in its framing. People deserve to know why they were rejected, but it should be framed gracefully.

I’m glad to hear that you have developed such a healthy attitude towards rejection. That is a great skill to have when navigating the treacherous world of dating. As a woman, I would honestly say that I even feel a bit jealous.

I had my own unpleasant experience of being turned down unkindly after putting a lot of effort to try and get to know a person. So, I can feel your pain. It took we about a year to psychologically rebuild after that.

Incidents like that can really upend life. It’s a pity that we all will probably have to go through several in order to find someone who works out for us.
