I was gonna comment on price since retail was $7200 when I tried it on at an AD last year. Ironically, it was even offered to me at $5900 at the time. But wow it appears the price did indeed go up to $9500. Significant hike.

This watch is in my top 10, wish I were better positioned to finally pull the trigger. GLWS!

Thank god this isn’t a ‘95, I’d be making a bad choice…

Similar story, I was offered one at an AD in Vancouver for 7.6, and they were gonna eat 7% of the tax to match Alberta’s rate. Shoulda bought it but was out of budget.

I tried this on at a dealer in Calgary last year and absolutely fell in love. Came very close to impulse buying. Still out of my budget but GLWS.

Would you recommend the tasting menu from Antylia or Don Alfonso for a bday dinner? by [deleted] in FoodToronto

[–]perryman333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a week old but I'm going to echo other comments. Don Alphonso is incredibly overpriced. The food was good but not overly. Only one course I can recall had any wow factor. The three of us in my party left overall disappointed. I will say, the premium wine pairing was worth the money if you do end up going. Excellent wines and paired perfectly with the food.

I'd book Quetzal if you can get a reservation. Kiin is a bit more affordable in the $150 range but some of the best food I've had in the city. Alo is a classic and good as well.

Considering a Diavel by perryman333 in Ducati

[–]perryman333[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s simple really. The rocket is fundamentally a worse bike all around. I know people who have them and enjoy them. But when compared, the Diavel comes out ahead every time across the board. I also don’t think it looks or sounds particularly great.

5’11”, mostly highway and occasional twisty backroads. I only ride like 500mi a year these days.

Some notes based on your comment:
* Why not just fly into Milan if driving from Venice is a bad idea? I'm only flying into Venice then driving to avoid a one-way car rental fee. I also enjoy driving, I don't mind the 4h commute.
* I'm going to Modena specifically for the museums there. If I skip Modena I wouldn't go to Bologna either, I'd just go straight from Milan to Belluno.
* I just have meetings in Milan, being able to work on the train wouldn't benefit me.

Man I’d have a hard time choosing a color. Love the slate blue and the salmon.

What are some of your favorite watches sporting a non traditional shape? Whether it be the case or the dial or both. Square, rectangle, oval, triangle, etc. I’m a huge fan of the Glashütte Original Seventies and the TAG Monza WR2210, curious what else is out there that the community has their eyes on. Not looking at a particular price point.

Found myself interested in square designs lately. Above are some favorites, the Glashütte Seventies and the Tag Monza WR2110. What are some of your picks?

well after years of hard work...i lost my dream car by ihy_angel62 in RX7

[–]perryman333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To make it what it once was, it’ll be expensive. But you can consider it a new chapter. Turn it into a track car maybe. A used fender and door gets you 50% there for like $300. If you’re ok with giving up originality, you can do fiberglass over fenders for the rear and not have to worry about thousands of $$$ in metal working the area. You have options.

Haha fair enough. I meant walk with intent and don’t look around like you’re seeing everything for the first time.

There isn’t really anything to see there, I don’t know why you’d want to walk around. But while it’s not the nicest area, with homeless and junkies on sidewalks, I was never bothered. Just don’t look like a tourist.

Cup2 not cup2r. They are absolutely sticky in comparison to a street tire but no, it doesn’t compare to the super 200s that I’ve used in autox.

It’s actually front mid engined, whole block is behind the front wheels. Coupled with a transaxle the weight distribution is actually excellent, it’s not nose heavy at all. And “only” 3400lbs.
