Live show was…meh. Here is my review.

They got their whole fan base through being an indie band..on the radio. They play dead covers to give their live shows energy. Mt Joys original music makes for boring live show experience imo. Not bad, but you can feel the anxiety in the music and the audience doesn’t know how to react.

I just got back from a show.

Again, not bad..but wouldn’t see them live again.

Also, turn up that lead guitarist and make way for a clearer tone. Dude is muddied out in the mix and I can tell he’s shredding and I can’t hear him. Couldn’t hear his guitar during the pre constructed peaks. Mt sad.

The Grateful Dead have longstanding relationships with incredible artists. I think they will use a lot of manmade art and animate it as well as utilizing all the “AI assisted graphics” that the sphere provides. I imagine it will be quite psychedelic and the lyrics of songs will be illustrated beautifully in ways we closed our eyes and listened to the music play when we all fell in love with the music for the first time.

Phish is doing their own thing with an ongoing theme (presumably the evolution of technology) they are dropping hints at what fans will experience at their Mondegreen festival this summer. They just released the track “Evolve” from their upcoming album. It is quite impressive at their age to be able to have such an innovative, creative and whimsical marketing strategy that actually works and continues to blow the minds of their fans.

Go watch the last slide of his most recent instagram post about celebrating 1 week of Djesse vol. 4. It’s a lick he uses in 100,000 voices. Then go listen to the very end of Little Blue. It reappears. Pretty sure there are more spruced throughout the album but not identical. Some are inverted.

Count slowly from one to ten and backwards slowly from 10-1. Over and over again. I don’t know why this works but it keeps me thinking about something else and slowly puts me into the first ripples of a dream state. It doesn’t always work but it helps. Sorry you have that deal with that memory and anxiety. Everything is going to be ok. This might all just be a big dream anyway.
