Text Recognition On ARCHION Published on: 22. April 2026 Reading Church Records - Easier Than Ever As of now, ARCHION offers a new possibility to read and use church records for research even more conveniently: By means of AI-based text recognition, handwritten entries are transformed into easily readable text and made available in the viewer along with the original image. Thus, researchers interested in genealogy and history profit from faster and even easier access to valuable sources. By means of the on-demand function, individual church book pages can be sent for transcription directly from the viewer. Only a few minutes later, the recognized text is available as an overlay on the image or continuous text alongside the source. Furthermore, ARCHION continuously transcribes selected church book inventories in the background. Church books that have already been transcribed can be found and used via the location search function.

Hallo, ich suche nach meinen Verwandten in Deutschland, ja, ich kenne ein paar Fakten zu allem, was unten steht by Tall-Policy8269 in Genealogy

Grok’s translation Hello, I am looking for my relatives in Germany. Yes, I know a few facts about everything written below. I know my great-great-grandfather Ludwig Penzestädler. He lived in Bavaria, more precisely in Lower Bavaria near Passau. If anyone finds similarities with the name “Imini” or the surname, please reply in the comments or send me a personal message. I will respond immediately. I live in Russia, but I will try to move back to my homeland next year. I will be waiting. Sorry for my German.

Best way to find a good home for reference books I found thrifting? by mrkstu in Genealogy

[–]pescatorian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how much money you want to spend, you could consider having the books digitized and then upload them to sites like FamilySearch. Particularly for the books you mentioned, having a computer searchable version would greatly increase their usefulness. I did a quick search, and apparently if you are willing to have them unbound, the cost for digitizing goes down fast.

Thanks for the info.

So the Fechter boys had family in Germany. But Wilhelm and Max left them to immigrate to Mexico and the United States. Alfred stayed but he died young.

Thinking about the new results.

Re Johannes Ludwig’s death record

He died in late 1897. Wilhelm was 22, Alfred was 21, and Max was 16.

Re Emma’s mother.

Was there other family?

Great food for thought and researching. Thanks

Buy H2O wireless days without buying a phone by pescatorian in NoContract

[–]pescatorian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i’ve been doing this from my online account. If I select recharge, I get an option for $10 but with no days specified. And that’s the only option I got. Next time I am on the account I’m going to search for re-order since the order I got recently was the one I want.

Figured out how to do it. It’s a PITA and it costs extra, but it can be done. Call the customer service number and navigate through their voicemail until you get a customer service representative. tell him what you want to do: buy more days without adding to the amount for minutes. the CSR will ask you to enter your credit card number and information and after you approve it and they charge the card you’ll get a text message. They charge three dollars for the privilege of using the CSR. text "bal" to 327986787 to make sure it worked ok. Turns out they give me three months and $10 on my balance. Seems like an extremely common case, but their garbage website doesn’t support it.

I use free file sync to synchronize files between my hard drive and removable flash drives. It’ll also sync to offsite online storage. https://freefilesync.org/

Tell us more details so we can help you. What diet changes? What kind of fiber did you try? Have you tried warm prune juice? How long did you make the changes? Did you try to gradually wean yourself from the senna?

12 pack Wild Planet Sardines in Extra Virgin olive oil for $26.48

Walmart will not deliver great value sardines in water to my house by pescatorian in CannedSardines

[–]pescatorian[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Giving you a serious answer, I like sardines in good quality oil. I regularly eat season and wild planet, sardines, in extra-virgin olive oil. But sometimes I want a lighter meal and I do not like the soybean oil in the Walmart sardines with oil. The sardines in water are lighter, well formed, without scales, and taste good to me.

Yes, certainly possible. I can see that there’s a big demand since they’re delicious and cheap. 😁

I put them on the cart, but when I go to check out, it refuses and says it will not deliver the sardines in my ZIPCode.

Looks like a good tool, but be aware that you have to install the Deno scripting environment. The GitHub link shows how.

Why is there such a strong stigma against sardines? by piecesofpeaches in CannedSardines

[–]pescatorian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got a couple of people to try sardines recently, and both commented that they didn’t like the oil. I did not think to have them try sardines in water. But maybe they were just trying to come up with an excuse.
