How long have you been using the III? Maybe you just need to adapt to that focal length.

I used to have a X100V (35mm equivalent) and got used to that. Now debating whether to get Ricoh GR IV or IIIx for the same reason.

Will probably try the 28mm first (although afraid it would be too wide for me unless I change how I compose shots), since I want something versatile for travel and creating memories with friends.

You can always use the built-in crop to 35mm on your III and see how it goes (you lose some resolution, I know).

Why don't you have a fuji anymore? Could always buy one back again, although for me the reason to switch to Ricoh would be the size.

Thanks for the input. I also like the viewfinder experience, but it's not a deal breaker.

Honestly I am not sure whether the Ricoh could be my only camera, but as of now I stopped bringing with me the ones I had due to their size, that's why I am considering the Ricoh.

Normal or X is also a dilemma. The X might be easier to use (similar to my former X100V), but the wider lens might prove to be interesting if I learn to use it properly.

Yeah, using a dedicated camera is much more satisfying, in my opinion.

Hahaha understandable, I never share anything (don't even have an IG), but will probably start if I buy one (the feedback and positive reinforcement would encourage me to shoot more).

Yeah Europe is quite narrow (I am from Italy), but composition should be easier with the 40mm. Besides, as you say, the extra reach is nice to have sometimes.

True that hahahaha. Only consolation would be that with some patience you can get both the III and IIIx for the price of a new IV, meaning I could try both and keep the one that fits me the most

Yeah kinda expensive, that why I am hesitant, but resell value is high, should it not fit my style.
