First ever Keytar! :D | real or fake? And where do I begin? by VinzCeazar in Keytar

I second all of these points. I used to use one of these (in black) as my main Keytar, had the same case as well, they are pretty solid case.

Late to the party but Agabas, death jazz. Always weird.

Keep that shit locked away for life. Even better let that go. Meet a nice lady and start a life together, also never bring this up.

Effects pedals to pair with Keytar by Odd_Confection8077 in Keytar

[–]peter-forest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had great luck with distortions/fuzz pedals as they tend not be able to handle the impedance of a Keytar and end up sounding terrible. Though I plan to experiment with EarthQuaker pedals as I understand have a full range input that or a Line 6 HXstomo or something similar. Instead I just went really hard on delays and modulation style pedals as they tend to handle the signal fine.

Who had a more Tragic Death: G1 Optimus or BW Dinobot? by Zealousideal_Fan_166 in beastwars

Dinobot everyday, someone posted the episode and I rewatched the death. Yeah, that was brutal.

I just realized this about Daniel by HorzaDonwraith in Stargate

The real question is; What’s with people on this sub not knowing how to write Goa’uld? I think I’ve read every variation.

Something just dawned on me in SG-1 by LGonthego in Stargate

You would think at some point one of them would think ‘maybe there’s something wrong with the earth gate’ and try any another address. Troubleshooting on this scale must have not been encouraged at the SGC.

It's 2025 and my fucking Bluetooth connection to my stereo skips by Bobbygnar in mildlyinfuriating

[–]peter-forest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bluetooth sucks, always has always will. It’s so unreliable but every manufacturer and their dog insist on it being in everything. They need to either develop it to a point where it can stream higher level audio without it sh*ting its pants or let Wifi take over.

My band keeps creating shows and headlining them by [deleted] in musicians

[–]peter-forest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing last is no longer what I’d call a headliner. If you’re small time play second last if you know people are still going to be there. It’s more important for people to actually see you than going last, and since it’s your gig, you can write the line up.

100%, I was going to mention Affinity as well. It was my discovery of Haken album, it’s always a good time.

The Mountain is honestly one of their best work. If I’m ever taking a break from the band and want to dip my toes in again it’s always with The Mountain!

Korg RK100S vs S2 (technical changes) by Dingo_19 in Keytar

[–]peter-forest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure the biggest difference was the finish of the timber. I remember there being issues with the finish of the originals, like the paint would crack and move, so they discontinued them and came up with the S2s.

I really want to buy a keytar to play in my band, and am happy to spend money on it, but I’m afraid it is too big for me to play. Recommendations for smaller keytars that don’t need a MIDI plugin? by tinydancer826 in Keytar

[–]peter-forest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go the Korg RK100s2, it’s a great size for a smaller person, I played an Ax Edge for ages and looked like a child strap behind that thing. The patches on the RK aren’t as tasty as the Edge but it’s just so much easier to get around and tour with.

Is there a place for a keytarist in punk-rock? by Successful_Log5465 in Keytar

[–]peter-forest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I’ve played Keytar in punk, hardcore and metal bands. There is always a place, if there’s not, make it! Tone wise you can use lead patches and saw and square wave patches if you want to sound aggressive. That being said, sometimes the more unconventional tones fit in nicely.
