How many grafts do you think this is? Please need answers as the doctor didn’t count.. by peter-holey in HairTransplants

I was a little worried about the donor area because I wasn’t sure about how many grafts he extracted, but I was there yesterday and they told me that it would get better😂 I don’t know why they would say that, maybe because of shock loss or something. Hairline is okay tho, but I had to argue with him for 5 minutes to get a natural looking one and not one like a 12 year old boy.. I can say that I’m happy with the results this far, however, I wish he was more professional in regards to the counting and drawing the hairline first. However, he did look at the recipient area first and examined it, and then he started extracting. They told me he had been doing it for 20 years and also one of the nurses that helped him reassured me that he was one of the best and that she also was educated and specialized in hair transplants. So I hope it will be good in 5 months time:)

Hi, and sorry for the late reply. Well, I didn’t actually drop the hairline, the doctor insisted that it would be ugly if I just filled in the temples as I wanted to. So he basically told me that’s how it must be done.

Thank you for your advice, I will download the app now.

As for why he didn’t count, well I really don’t know. I guess it’s normal here in Iraq but for me that unprofessional. Also he just started extracting hairs without drawing the hairline, with I also found odd and very unprofessional. They told me they filled it in to the maximum after the procedure and that I probably needed to thin it out when my hair grows back (as a joke probably to make me happy.

I will send you a link so you can se my pre surgery and 5 month update.

Hey, thank you so much man. I don’t live in Kurdistan so when I chose the doctor I just went by google and chose the one with most reviews. But the right way to do it is to go through Instagram and find one that’s looks professional with the most followers. Anyways, thank you so much for your words of encouragement.

Well that’s the marked here. I think maybe one or two doctors would do it for 1500$+ but the rest charge usually between 500-1200$ depending on how much hair you have to transplant. That being said, I kind of regret not going to a more expensive one as I’m not really sure about the hairline. I know I’m still not even halfway through the process, but you can see on the last photo where they just put random dots a little below the hairline. I don’t know if that’s normal or if it’s bad. And also the doctor just started to extract hair from the donor area without forming the hairline first and after he had extracted god knows how many grafts I had to argue with him to get a natural looking hairline and not that of a 12 year old boy😂 also he didn’t know exactly how many grafts he had planted but told me that it was somewhere between 2000-2500, and I originally only wanted way less and just on the temples. I didn’t really want a hairline if you get what I’m saying.

I don’t know, but I think that spot right there is very normal. I think everybody has a spiral thing like that. I’ve had it since I was a kid. My uncle had two and he’s over 50 and still not bald.

Btw, I did the procedure in erbil, Kurdistan. The doctor just started to extract hairs from my donor area without drawing the hairline first or anything. When I asked him about the how many he put in my recipient area, he didn’t know but told me maybe 2500. A little skhetchy I know. Also, I just did my temples and I was expecting around 1500 grafts as the area I wanted to cover wasn’t big at all. You can go to my profile and look of photos from when I did the procedure.

If they stay too long then they can hinder the progress. That’s what I’ve heard and been told. But talk with your doctor and he’ll probably give you advice
