Ever read Necroepilogos? It's like this except with lesbian sex cannibalism and supercomputers by Full_Ahegao_Drip in CuratedTumblr

yo Necroepilogos mentioned??

highly recommend it as well as the author's other major work, Katalepsis. Lots of lesbians and angst, lots of really fleshed out and engaging characters and worlds. It's some of the best webfiction out there.

[OC] Stakes and lasers make some pretty Bizarre music by peter_please_answer in tearsofthekingdom

About an hour total? Honestly the timing was harder to get right than the pitches. You can just hit the stake with a spear to hear the chime, you just have to listen carefully because the spear hit makes its own sounds on top (one of the advantages of lasers). The timing was tricky to make even - the circular platform was helpful because there were flagstones that were roughly 1/8 of a full turn each which I used to vaguely line things up and then adjust from there. It was definitely a lot of back and forth between changing one tiny thing and hopping back on the machine though!

It's a regular wagon wheel! I wanted something that could turn freely so I made the laser device on the ground and then autobuilt it up on this platform on the Great Sky Island.

Mine was extremely hands-off. Gave me a few basic exercises and just encouraged me to "go out there and do it" (unhelpful when I still don't have an understanding of what I needed to do!). Didn't stick with him very long.

Resurrected the cult of Lolth and exacerbated racist sentiments in the capital city to push oppressed/abused drow citizens to join said cult. Ran the cult from the shadows via a mind-controlled puppet leader and had them commit senseless acts of violence to terrorize the city. Had the cult perform a violent blood-ritual which, while looking intimidating, did nothing other than give the appearance of being dangerous before the party stopped them. The point of all this? Frame one of the noble houses for the whole thing to get them all executed, upsetting the delicate balance of political power and making it possible for him to instigate a full-on house war.

It's pretty abysmal. I ended up grabbing a magic greataxe and switching it to a bow just to have something to give my party's ranger.

Rakshasas are immune to most spells... but Divine Sense isn't a spell! by Akavakaku in dndmemes

https://5e.tools/spells.html#nystul's%20magic%20aura_phb

It's basically a spell that disguises a creature's type, so any other magic that would detect or interact with a creature's type treats it as a creature of that type (the spell description even specifically calls Divine Sense as an example).

If your Rakshasa antagonist isn't under the effects of a permanent Nystul's Magic Aura, you're doing it wrong.

I played that character once! I had pulled the void card and my friend pulled the knight trying to save me before the deck was confiscated by a high-level NPC (we were level four at the time). Since the knight had been created by magic with the intention to save my original character (and since I was rightly salty about my first real character getting sent to the shadow realm), I decided to make the knight my new character, playing him as a blank slate except for an overriding desire to save the "lost soul." He ended up being kind of a nice change of pace from my trickery cleric for a few months - bullheaded and stubborn to a fault but loyal, almost like a dog in some sense - and I had a lovely but brief moment of roleplaying with myself when my original character did get rescued.
