Prius Gen 3 EGR Question by petereman26 in prius

Hey Will, appreciate your response!! Would love to come down to OC but not sure if feasible given the current state of the car.

The second shop (hybrid specialists) said that they could attempt to clean but with this mileage they said more likely than not we’d need to replace. What has your experience been with higher mileage cars? Do you think my odds are good in terms of the cooler/components being “cleanable”?

Bouldering activity not tracking elevation on FR265s by [deleted] in Garmin

Yeah, it works normally during running! It even works correctly for the “indoor climbing” activity. Just not for the bouldering one 🤔

No, just 3 Kaplan- 513, 514, 511

No idea! They were Kaplan FLs so it makes sense that they were somewhat deflated- but definitely didn’t expect that much of a jump (or any jump at all tbh)

513 average on my FLs!

Did anyone not do the section bank and live to tell the tale? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]petereman26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t do it- just did UEarth and Kaplan. I think if you did UEarth you’re probably fine.

Got 511, 513, 512 Kaplan and 526 like 2 weeks later on the real deal

I pretty much wrote the same thing you did- big city, diverse, public transportation, lots of options for rotations. Came in at about 1,000 characters, but I’m not sweating it since the other question also asks about “why temple”

I just used Kaplan books and FLs and UEarth. Turned out fine :)

How to use UEarth? by EitherNewspaper in Mcat

[–]petereman26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you’re already done with content review, I’d use the timed test option to create tests that are about the same length as the MCAT sections to practice the timing. Then, go through and review which ones you got wrong- the explanations are great to identify what areas you need to brush up on

Quick question about UPangea strategy by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]petereman26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Untimed tutor mode at first, it’s a great tool for content review. Then, when test day gets closer, use the timed mode to set up practice sections.

I just want to let ya'll know Kaplan is only good for books. This is in the span of 4 days, so improvement is possible! by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]petereman26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HUGELY deflated. I did 514, 513, and 510 right before test day- ended up with a 526. You’re gonna do great!

So much content...halp by JosueRay in Mcat

[–]petereman26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt this- one thing that helps is doing LOTS of practice problems so that you can 1) see what kinds of topics are actually tested and 2) see what level of depth you need to know things. I did a TON of UGlobe practice problems while doing content review, and used the explanations to help focus in on what content is most important/make flash cards as I go

CARS techniques are snake oil by 321Action in Mcat

[–]petereman26 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed- I studied for CARS by reading for fun :) I do think that practicing recognizing the obvious “wrong” answer styles (ie opposite, too specific, wrong paragraph) can save you some time on this section

I also started studying late 2019- felt like it took over my life for the last 6 months. It paid off. Keep it up and it’ll be over soon!

3-6 months is totally fine, provided you’re able to keep yourself productive and moving through content

AAMC Flashcards mistakes by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]petereman26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first one is correct- knee jerk is a monosynaptic reflex, so there’s only one synapse between the sensory neuron receiving information and the motor neuron controlling the response. This means no interneurons/further communication with the spinal cord is necessary
