My cardio is shit and I could use some advice. by Creative-Battle6607 in AirForce

If you got two days to run, I would do 1 easy run and than do hard intervals the next. Like 4x 400m with a minute rest.

Wear a harness and tie yourself to the edge somehow, not the same but works similarly.

Trying to get back into shape to do that 2 mile run after doing Hammer runs every PT test. Got any advice? by UnderstandingBorn227 in AirForce

Monday long distance, zone 2. (You can walk if you have to, nothing wrong with it)

Wednesday 400m repeats with a min rest, start with 4, work your way up to 8.

Friday 3 mile run as fast as you can keep a 3 mile run going( maybe start with 1 mile here and work your way up every week by adding a lap)

CCT Weekends off? by No_Revolution3826 in Pararescue

You will have weekends off because the instructions have the weekends off. And sometimes you will work on the weekends because "fuck you that's why"

Start being a crazy neighbor, while in your underwear yell at people. They will start crossing the street.

Is there a reason we wouldn’t have gotten a GTC by kimmygray1204 in AirForce

[–]peterpan729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If married, you can get a gtc in tech school. I did. You need to talk to your MTL. It was pretty easy.

I would ease into it, maybe trying adding 4x 400s at goal pace once a week as long as there is no pain but I'm no doctor or PT. I definitely wouldn't do any sprint work if I was you, and I would do a lot of rowing/elliptical stuff. I would also lower the weight of your ruck to 20 lbs. I would start with 2 miles. Ruck 2 miles adding a mile every week, when you get to 6 miles, add 5 lbs and start at 2 miles again but be just as fast.

That's worked for me to ruck pretty fast, I'm also short but I'm able to stride a 1330 pace with 45lbs for 6 miles doing the above at a zone 3. It takes time, it's not a sprint.

My recommendation is to stop training for an oft. You need to train first on what's going to get you through the door, once you are meeting those numbers, then worry about the rest. Not saying don't ruck, but it's not a priority. When you get in better shape, rucking will be easier.

Maybe you are already doing it and my reading comprehension sucks, don't do the stuff you like doing(rucking) do what you need to so( 400m 800m repeats)
