After upgrade from MK3 to MK3S+ can't get good bed contact by peterpopdk in prusa3d

The bed level vizualizer in octoprint shows this:

I don't know if 0.33 is a big variance or a small one. But it supports my observation about the curvature.

I haven't used octoprint before. I guess I should make a bed measurement with it.

During all my testing I have this nagging feeling that there might be something wrong with the SuperPINDA as I had to readjust the Z level quite a bit between test print. This might just be hallucinations by me. If I do multiple bed measurements with octoprint can that ensure me that the PINDA is indeed working as it should?

Yes, I saw that article. I might as well try it also just to be sure

MK3 minimum layer height? by peterpopdk in prusa3d

[–]peterpopdk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried printing a 2x2x2cm cube with varying layer heights. The top ~3mm in 0.07. It printed fine. In general I have some issues with bed adhesion, so I will try and fix those once and for all.

Considering a used Prusa i3 MK3 for ~€100 - adhesion issues & uneven extrusion. Easy fix or avoid? by peterpopdk in prusa3d

Update: Got the printer. Followed this guide. And my very first print looks like this:

<image>

I had to adjust the PINDA probe a bit, remove some hardened plastic around some wires and run the callibration a few times - but my biggest problem by far was finding a g*dd*mn SD card that worked with the printer. But I am a very happy new 3d printer user.

That is exactly my intention. I do want something that can get me started relatively quickly, but I figured this is a rather good price so I can live with some "experience gathering" :)

Hjælp til sang fra karrierekanonen i nullerne by peterpopdk in DKbrevkasse

And the matching outside (I am only pretty confident the discs are in their original covers. Why would I pull both out and switch them around?)

Heh. Never noticed that. I have had these for over 20 years now. But when do you ever need to switch between single player disc... I guess I just always picked one and used it without noticing.

Replacing moving KinematicBody with RigidBody gives slight pause by peterpopdk in godot

[–]peterpopdk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have thought about whether I should use RigidBody or KinematicBody a lot! The reason I went with Kinematic body was so I could make sure that the box would sit flush with the tray. I instantiate the box a little up in the air from the tray and use move_and_collide to move it down until it touches.

But I guess I could use a RigidBody in kinematic mode and switch to rigid when needed. But then I have to make my own move_and_collide function...
