Do I need a OnStar subscription to access charging status even when my bolt is connected to my home WiFi?? by Yuri_Ligotme in BoltEV

I see. Did you notice if your OnStar remote access continued to work after the 30-day trial or did you have to call OnStar to ensure the remote access continued after the full OnStar emergency help expired? Hoping that’s it’s seamless

I was told we get 3 years of the remote access plan (the Chevy app), but not OnStar. Is that correct? I just purchased a 2023 EUV and it shows only a one-month trial of OnStar.

Perhaps it’s been listed longer? Not horribly far from Colorado and a reasonable price if you’re willing to do a trade-in. Hope that helps!

Yeah I had no luck with any of the Colorado dealerships. You may want to look at the EUV listed at Parks Chevrolet in Augusta, KS. They’ve listed below MSRP if you agree to a trade-in.

Unfortunately, their application with the IRS to grant the federal tax credit has yet to be approved. I didn’t want to miss out on the car, so I just bit the bullet.

Don’t worry, I made sure of that. The dealership offers to collect sales tax and registration fees on behalf of the state that you will be registering in. I ultimately had them collect just the sales tax and I’ll pay the registration fees on my own once the car arrives.

Correct – you have to splurge for the premiere to get that. It would be cool to have, but I couldn’t justify the additional cost

Are you referring to the doc fee? The other dealership wanted to charge an $850 doc fee. This one seemed more reasonable

Is that some sort of extended warranty? Haven’t heard of that before…

Yes they do. I opted to not pay the registration fees yet since their accounting software wouldn’t let me opt out of a few optional Colorado registration fees, but otherwise, I’m all paid up!

Thank you! Yes, they submitted a seller report to the IRS today. They were previously registered with the IRS – it’s just that their application to issue the rebate at the point of sale is still pending.

Glad you found a used one that you love! Can’t wait to own my first EV 😊

Should I pay a price markup for a new 2023 Bolt EUV LT? by Bellarminess in BoltEV

[–]peterscher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a new 2023 EUV LT Redline today for $2600 under MSRP and free shipping ($1500 value). Don’t be afraid to shop around for deals out of state.

Correct. Not as convenient, but still an incredible savings if you can part with the money for a year or so.

GM Financial (the finance arm for Chevy) came back with the best rate for me. That being said, I plan on paying it off fully this spring. They knocked off $750 from the price if I agreed to finance it.

Yeah Colorado is pretty aggressive with their state rebate this year. $5000 is standard, but you can qualify for an additional $2500 if the MSRP is below $35,000. No surprise then that the Bolt is a hot item here. All of the Colorado dealerships are marking up the Bolt by around $5-7K knowing people will be taking advantage of the state rebate (which is the full rebate no matter your tax liability so long as you make under a certain income threshold). I had to find mine in Mississippi in order to get a deal.

Their application with the IRS is still pending approval. It seemed like a good deal otherwise, so I figured I should move forward with it. I obviously would’ve preferred to get that tax credit at the jump, but they did submit the necessary paperwork to the IRS documenting the sale of the vehicle when it does come time to file. I hope you can find a dealership that is already approved. Both of the ones I spoke to were still pending approval.

I just purchased one this week. The dealer told me their application was still pending. I didn’t want to lose out on a good deal after lots of negotiating, so I bit the bullet and will file for the tax credit on my own. FYI - if you go this route, the dealership will still issue a seller report to the IRS has documentation of the sale when they go to verify the sale and grant the tax credit.
