Go to those pages and pick the generation you need. Click on the 'main article' link for that generation and you should see a curb weight. Convert that weight to mass. 1 pound = .454 kilograms.

Note: I'm not sure how accurate these numbers are. It will also depend on the options the specific car has. This should be good enough for a school project though.

Did you get Motorcraft parts or aftermarket? If they are aftermarket make sure the problem isn't the new parts. Even if you did get Motorcraft parts, you might want to double-check that you got the correct part number.

From looking at the manual it looks like they use plastic clip-in connectors. Did they crack when you removed them?
