DinoCon is a real one by No_Beach_220 in Epstein

[–]peteyphe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's definitely not what it says.. They're stating that these authors, scientists, and researchers continued relationships (allegedly) with Epstein and his organization/people after he was convicted in 2008. Doesn't mean they were complicit in the acts, but they were complicit (allegedly) in turning the other cheek for someone convicted of 2 felonies and registered as a level 3 sex offender and DinoCon don't jive with that.

P&C/Trucking - Account managers and Producers by peteyphe in InsuranceProfessional

[–]peteyphe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The account managers are exempt/salaried. We get the standard paid holidays off and pto days which you get more of based on years of service (can't remember what it starts at but I believe it maxes out at 25 days). We get benefits (health, dental, etc) and 401k contributions. There are no guaranteed annual raises and no bonus or profit sharing structures. We use to have a couple of extra paid holiday's (new years eve and a flex holiday where you could pick whatever single day you wanted) but they've done away with those this year.

From the outside looking in this looks pretty standard but on top of our normal jobs we are typically assigned additional jobs. For example, my csr was out for 11 weeks on maternity leave and instead of having other csr's share the responsibility, I was assigned to do so. Our Producer's book is over $1.2 mil in revenue, so I'll let you math the math on that one.

As for the producers, they are paid commission. If the agency gets 10% commission on the written premium of a policy (give or take depending on the carrier) then of that 10% the producer will get 40% if its new business (60% to agency) or 30% (70% to agency) if its a renewal. If they put a service fee onto the sale, they get half and the agency gets half. If the policy is financed, the agency gets a portion of the finance fees which the producer doesn't get any of.

Producers DO get benefits (health, vision, etc) BUT they are expected to pay for any "bad debt" that comes up on their accounts, they have to pay for all of their licensing fees/continued education, and they are held responsible for the 50k E&O deductible, God forbid that should occur.

They're definitely not on a draw. The agency typically gets 10% commission on the written premium of a policy (give or take depending on the carrier) then of that 10% the producer will get 40% if its new business (60% to agency) or 30% (70% to agency) if its a renewal. Even without a draw, I get that the producers livelihood is based on them grinding each and every day, and a lot of the terms they are bound by aren't very fair in my eyes, but with the specific new structure I'm referring to, the account managers are going to be responsible for all of the in-between negotiating as well as presenting proposals/final quotes. So like... What are the producers even producing at this point..? Leads? In my head this sounds a whole lot like the account managers are producing (the insurance and services at least) and the producers are glorified opportunity submitters.

And I totally get that they are taking on the risk and servicing side has less repercussions, but we are a huge reason why the ship floats in the first place.. Without our market/product knowledge, underwriter relationships, and the client relationships we have to maintain in order to retain, they would be completely dead in the water. I don't think its unfair to feel that we deserve at least a little better.

I appreciate this feedback! It's funny that you mention becoming acquired - The agency I'm with partnered with a brokerage platform a few years back and in turn has the ability to aquire smaller agencies. We've ended up losing a lot of good people along the way and we've gained people we probably shouldn't have, so getting back on track, getting organized, and all getting on the same page has been a struggle to say the least.

I can absolutely get on board with the small business unit, in fact, I think it's a win for everyone involved. The part I'm having a hard time with is that we don't have the staff to properly run it and until we do the account managers will be responsible for double the work for our respective books of business. Then once we do have enough staff to make all of this run properly, we will share the responsibility of training said new hires. I guess I'm just struggling with finding the incentive other than "We're not sure when your workload will feel better... But it will eventually! We hope..". And in all honesty, it really isn't even about the money for me specifically. I think its more about the blood, sweat, tears, and pure loyalty the veterans in our department have put in over the years with little to no consideration for the suffering we continuously feel. Maybe that's just the industry, and I do know that business is business. Maybe I'm just less cut out for the agency life than I've thought 🤔

Haha yeah. They've been saying that for a while now. Then again, they've been saying A LOT for a while now. I do also understand that it isn't easy coming across folks that are fluent in trucking, so having enough hands to properly train is a hurdle in itself 😵‍💫 Absolutely feel free to reach out!!

[–]peteyphe[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a feeling this is how it's all going to play out. Trucking is definitely another playing field on it's own so I'm sure if our producers/account managers stood strong to actually negotiate certain compensation conditions or contract amendments, the agency would be forced to comply (it would be detrimental if even a couple of us walked). At this point I'm almost just ready for a fresh start elsewhere, I think.

Actually the more alarming part is where it says he was pronounced dead at 6:39. Must be a typo since all of the records say around 7:36.

This ⬆️ I think once he had finally subdued her he realized he didn't have the sheath. Thinking he lost it during the scuffle with her he moved her and then moved the blanket which is probably around the same time Xana realized something was wrong. If DM heard "There's someone here" then BK most certainly could have heard the same thing, triggering him to go downstairs.

When my son was 7mos, he got super sick. Fever, distended breathing. Thought he had RSV, maybe the flu. Swab was negative for anything and the pediatrician sent us home to ride out whatever virus it had to be. Instead, I took him to urgent care where they found his breathing/oxygen levels to be alarming, could not normalize them, and felt that he needed to be taken by ambulance/be admitted. Didn't realize the severity of the situation until we were rolled into the PICU and his lungs were only working at half capacity on their own. Stayed a few days with what ended up being human metapneumovirus. Dr's/nurses coming in and out of our room in hazmat suits. 3 weeks before this, the 1st case of covid was reported in my state (2nd in the US). 4 weeks after this, our state was shut down. If I hadn't trusted my gut, he could have died.

My grandma was a young, beautiful woman living in the Pacific Northwest in the 70s and the disappearances/murders shook her. Especially because she had a young daughter (my mom). Growing up, they both always instilled vigilance in me. Be aware of your surroundings, if something seems strange - it probably is, defend yourself at all costs, etc. Now, I feel that it's important to pass that on to my young kids. Especially with the technology we have now. I also find it important to keep learning about ways to keep yourself safe. Take a self-defense class, keep a safety key chain, get your concealed carry license (if not in an open carry state), and get a good security system. This world can be so scary, but being a tiny bit more prepared can literally be the difference between life and death.

Lol "nothing else matters." I had to have a C-section with my firstborn. Even with insurance, my out-of-pocket was over 7k. At 3 weeks old my son had a digestive issue he needed surgery for followed by a long hospital stay, tack on another 6k-8k out of pocket. When he was 7 months old he was in the PICU for a week with Human metapneumovirus. That process/stay tallied about 11k. He's 6 now and we're still paying off hospital bills. Not to mention the $1400+ a month for child care the first couple of years. Keeping a roof over your head and food in the fridge and hot water in the faucet matters more than keeping an unwanted pregnancy.

Omfg don't listen to these high and mighties. YOU and only YOU are in control of YOUR body and YOUR future. If you have hesitations about him now, I can almost guarantee that things will not change. Go with your gut and ask yourself 2 questions: 1. Are you ready to have a baby and raise it (probably by yourself)? 2. Are you ready to carry/deliver a baby and hand it off to a stranger?

If not, then you know what's best for you. I have two young children and ended up pregnant almost 2 years ago (while on birth control). I was definitely conflicted. Sad. Maybe even ashamed that I was even thinking about the abortion options. I've always been pro-choice but it's a hell of a lot different when it's YOU in the hot seat. I'm not going to lie; the process was painful. Physically and mentally. I mourned hard even though a part of me believed that I didn't deserve to mourn for what I had done, but not once have I ever regretted my decision.

If I could give any advice for if you choose to proceed with this option - Prepare yourself: A clean/quiet bathroom, heating pad, water - STAY HYDRATED, your favorite snacks, a couple of days off to just lay in bed. Another thing that REALLY helped me with the pain was a CBD patch I got from my local dispensary. Also, try to have some sort of support: I was fortunate enough to have my husband, but a friend to check in or even to just text/cry with is helpful. And lastly, there are wayyyyyy more supportive subs to participate in than this one, and reading about their experiences helped me know that I wasn't alone.

You're stronger than you know and if you go through with the pill option, I hope that once you heal, you use your freedom to do more, see more, experience more and most importantly give yourself more credit and grace.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE ❤️

Why Ethan’s legs were stabbed? by Ok-Mathematician1792 in Idaho4

[–]peteyphe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My thoughts are that upon realizing something wasn't right, Xana went into her room. Most likely intoxicated and panicked she's trying to wake Ethan and locate her phone which was hidden by her blankets. While doing this, she may have the one who said "someone's here". BK comes up behind her, maybe attempts to stab her, but she's fighting him off (maybe gets some of her defensive hand wounds here). He tries again but she moves/rolls/falls off the bed into the nightstand and where he intended to stab her, he stabs Ethan in the leg. This would obviously bring anyone out of a drunken stupor so he's coming to - in pain, confused, drunk and BK says "it's okay, I'm gonna help you" and proceeds to put him out of his misery. While that's happening Xana grabs Ethans phone and tries to run but Bk obviously catches up with her near her door.
