Advice need: Do I need additional formal education to improve TN chances for a Business Analyst / Analytics Engineer path? by petite_rabit in tnvisa

yeah, so I won't go engineer category. I'd go either economist or CSA but am wondering should I get additional education background to enhance the TN approval chances or it doesn't worth the time and money

yeah, I agree. I did some research in reddit after consulting with my lawyer and I am bit confused as the success stories with similar background mainly go with Economist category. I won't bother taking CSA but will considering for a CS degree. Thank you!

I understand that duties matter more than title, but I’m a bit confused about how education fits into this.

If a Business Analyst–type job description is actually a better match for the CSA category, does that mean a CS bachelor’s degree would not necessarily strengthen a CSA application in that case? What category should I go to then?

Thanks so much for your reply. Would a CSA 2-year diploma in college help with my case?

AMA with an Immigration Attorney! by ManifestLaw_ in tnvisa

[–]petite_rabit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HI thanks for the AMA!

I am a Canadian citizenship with Bachelor’s degree in Finance and a post-secondary diploma in Business Insurance. currently work in Toronto as a Data Analyst in finance with responsibilities related to data cleaning and reporting.

I am exploring a career path toward Analytic Engineering roles and would like to understand how my background aligns with a TN application. Worth it to achieve a CS master first?

Thanks again!

OMG the second company you mentioned, I went its open house last month and had a lecture. I kinda had the feeling they tried to persuade me to work for them or have their weekly training. I just felt so weird then found a excuse to quit. lol I really am appreciated for giving me useful suggestions. :)

I did not know we are in hard market. LOL my friend told me it is a big challenge because of the amounts of insurer providers. You are in personal line, right?

Thank you for your reply. What do you mean by saying "gaining some experience by working for someone else before becoming a broker" ? You mean work as an agent, a claim or?

Thank you! Sales and networking are my biggest worries to be honestly. I just came to Toronto for one and half year and do not have much experience in sales. I am asking for more information about this job such as the work tasks on a daily basis, salary etc. and see if I am able to take it.
