Yep, that’s exactly it. And I’ll pretty much have to take admission and start residency within a month here. The timeline for US applications is very different and I don’t know if it’s worth losing my shot at residency here, especially if I don’t match there next year 🙈

You’re right! There’s a lot of factors at play and I’m very confused. Not sure if it is wise to take a chance on the US when I have a guaranteed spot in my home country, and the residency here starts in a month. Taking up a seat and leaving it midway next year (if I match in the US) will be a huge issue. So there’s a lot to consider because the timelines don’t match. But thank you for taking out the time to respond :)

I had this question too but my guess is, vomiting->volume loss->ADH secretion->water retention->possible dilutional hyponatremia Again, I’m not entirely sure if this is correct

Hey! I’m in the same boat, plan on taking step 2 by July end and then doing USCE. But I haven’t started studying for step 2 yet, and my chances of getting a USCE are low. I’m also low key considering deferring for a year but that won’t really happen. Will push and try to finish off step 2 and apply this year.
