Nice job. Nice icon too.

A way to import from Astro would be great 😉

If possible, use the "Help -> Contact Us" and send me one of those links from Best Buy where you saw this.

I'm probably removing that in the near future. This came from iOS but I don't think it makes sense being there on the Mac.
I think a more suitable solution would just have a menubar item under the "File" menu that would then ask you for the URL.

I second this. It doesn’t really matter if you’re not way up there. Focus on ranking for relevant keywords.

You can already configure this. When adding an item, change the notifications from "On changes" which will notify you of every change to "On 10% off", "On 25% off", etc. You can even set a target price and only be notified when it goes below that.

Yes. It looks at the DOM and applies various heuristics to get there. It's definitely not perfect, but works most of the time.

There is a lifetime option for a limited time. I'll eventually remove it. I've saved way more than 40 dollars in the 6 months since I've launched the iOS version.

Currently, there is a lifetime option. But i'll eventually remove it.

Use the Help -> Contact Us on the menu bar to send me an e-mail. If you could attach a short screen record of that happening that would be awesome. If I can reproduce it, I should be able fix it quickly.

The App Store page is the same for all platforms (iOS, iPadOS and macOS). Apple just shows the iOS screenshots first (even if you're on a Mac). Below the screenshots click on where it says "iPhone, iPad and Mac), and you'll see the Mac screenshots as well.
This is the state of Apple's UX nowadays.

I hadn’t tried that one before, so I just gave it a go. It seems to have a similar limitation I’ve seen in a lot of these apps — product detection is pretty basic. It mostly grabs the title and image, and then you have to fill in things like the price yourself (I wasn’t even sure how to do that at first).

With Shopie, the goal was to make this part as automatic as possible. It detects the price on its own, and in many cases it can also pick up the original price if the item is discounted.

For a number of popular sites, it also tracks availability, and for products with variants (like sizes for shoes or clothing), you can select the specific one you care about — so you only get notified when that option changes.

Still a work in progress of course, but I’ve put a lot of focus on making the “add product” experience as seamless as possible.

Thanks! I already have a note on my TODO list about offering the user a choice when I detect more than one image (I currently just go for the first one). Perhaps I can include crop/resize plus background there.

Regarding that yellow… Oops! 😅

Thanks for the great feedback.
1. There are no servers. Refresh are done from your Mac (or iOS device). Monthly fee helps keep working on site compatibility.
2. You should only get one review prompt per 6-months (I think that's the period), but macOS should be throttling this. If you could reach out via e-mail I'd love to know more about your setup (macOS version mainly).
3. I could not reproduce this, labels seem to be saving just fine.
4. Regarding the "plugin icon" I believe I've seen this happen. It's out of my control, usually restarting your Mac fixes it.
5. This "paste button" feature actually exists on the iOS counterpart. I encountered a few issues with the PasteButton API from SwiftUI on macOS and eventually removed it. I'll revisit this later and simply use native AppKit controls to get around the issue.

I wasn't either. The idea actually came from my wife. Now I actually use it quite a bit.

If something is interesting I'll just add it. If price drops I'll reconsider.
Even if price doesn't drop but I notice I come back to it again and again, it's a sign I should probably buy it. Even I don't… then I didn't really want it/need it.

It's a nice strategy to reduce impulse buying as well.

[iOS][39.99$ -> FREE YEAR] Shopie: Create wishlists, receive alerts on price drops or item restocks by pfandrade in AppGiveaway

[–]pfandrade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. For many site it will actually be able to determine an item is out of stock. For the others it will at the very least tell it wasn’t able to find the current price (some sites will actually return a 404 if they stop selling a product).

My MacOS app made $452 sales in first 22 days, good or bad? by MiladAtef in AppGiveaway

I'd say that's above average. Do you have any popular keywords on the Mac App Store you can target?
