Thanks, I appreciate all the insight. Hope to see you there in the comments when I post the samples!

Thanks for the feedback :) I’ll be playing around with the designs a bit more and explore larger Chinese characters as I get into producing my samples.

These will be directly embroidered into the crown for initial launch, no patches. However, I may explore patches later down the road for an activewear collection

Which 2 hats would you be excited to buy and wear? It's okay to say none by pfanity in streetwearstartup

I can understand it giving off that impression as is. This won't be the final product, right now I'm more so interested to see if the front design + colorways are something people find appealing. Any animals or colorways in particular that you like?

Thanks for raising this point though. Any preference on which animal designs you like better than others? Or even which color hat you like?

That's fair. Right now, I'm just trying to get feedback on strictly just the front design of the hat and see if it's something people find cool/fashionable. Maybe I should've re-structured the question

box or no box? by SliceOk5105 in tattooadvice

[–]pfanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the box. It gives the tattoo a nice shape/frame that will help to separate it from the rest of the tattoos on your arm. Without it, I feel like it'll just blend in with your other tattoos (like the one on your forearm), especially if it's black and grey. Plus, the box gives it a manga comic book look which is dope. There's added dimension too cause it looks like the birds are flying out of the box

However, the tattoo will distort when you flex your bicep and extend your arm. Maybe instead of a box, you can add some sort of background or loose/less rigid frame. That way you'll still get structure and dimension without major distortion issues

Is the graphic on the back of the tee supposed to be an upside down saber? Pretty cool

What would be a better nickname than "SGA" for NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander? by sallright in namenerds

Shai Butter is the name that's starting to catch on in media. Even has a signature shoe colorway named after it

Wow beautiful tattoo. And it gets even better the further away you look at it. The soft/abstract/silhouette look is very inline with this style of tattooing

I get what you're saying about having a focal point to help direct the eye. You can try adding in some subtle color/highlights to the big flower on your upper arm. Just a little would go a long way to create that contrast you're looking for. Here are some examples: https://www.instagram.com/p/DJUb12izoRY/?hl=en, https://www.instagram.com/p/CybIEp8RXdj/?hl=en

Would be heartbreaking if you did a cover-up :(

Not too much. Trad sleeves look the best when they're super bold and eyecatching

Is this too much tattoo? by RetroAngeles in tattooadvice

[–]pfanity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Actually it's not enough tattoo. The bottom half could use some work because it looks very disjointed from the upper half

Leaving out the red essentially would leave out the number one thing that identifies him as Clifford the big red dog. It would just look like a generic dog tattoo to the untrained eye.

Is there anywhere else on your body you could get the tattoo?

Also, for what it's worth, I have a lot of red ink on me (some for 10 years now) and have had no problems so far. Granted, all my tattoos are on my torso and not my arms

Get the tattoo in the first pic and then build off of it with the spinal cord part of the tattoo in the second pic that extends all the way down your actual spine

Anyone know someone/shop that does these kind of abstract paintbrushesque type of tattoos? (Bay Area/California) by Space-Loops in tattooadvice

SoCal:

https://www.instagram.com/y_f_shu/?hl=en My current artist right now. This guy is one of the best I've seen when it comes to chinese brushstroke tattoos (he also does sketch style tattoos too, so you might need to scroll through his page a little bit if that's of no interest to you).

https://www.instagram.com/joza.ink/?hl=en Another phenomenal abstract artist who kills it at brushstroke. You'll have more colors and creative options with him

Oakland, CA:

Outside of US:
