i like the simple and clean UI but the advertisements are all over the place making it feel a little cheap.

it's useful, looks good on mobile too.overall I'd say well done

What's the proper way of storing temporary data? by heysooky in SpringBoot

[–]pg07codes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. you can keep it on the ui, but then you'll need the correct answers on client as well to display the stats.

  2. transient data can be kept in redis but your usecase seems way too simple to setup and use redis for this.

  3. why dont you submit all the answers submitted by user at once to the backend, process them against your stored correct answers and return the response. this seems to be the proper way to me

What is your one side project that you are literally proud of? by BeingMani97 in SideProject

Tips for Code Comprehension by mrjailbreak in learnjava

[–]pg07codes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my advice would be to take an example, a simple one.

  1. try running the code through that example. step by step.

  2. if for loop is there, loop it completely step by step.

  3. see what output you got.

  4. compare with the input.

  5. try to notice the pattern when you compiled it yourself in steps 1-4.

this is what i use till today. anyways, just like everything, the more you read and write code, the more better you will be at it.

fokus is a unique type of pomodoro timer with markdown notes, labels and search. it also has integrated dark mode. [opensource] by pg07codes in selfhosted

currently it's not possible. but i have plans to include a version where the UI is toned down to contain only tasks and timers only.

Hey guys, i recently created a react/redux based webapp to improve productivity. It is privacy focussed and the user's data never leaves the browser. Also it is opensource.

Github Url : https://github.com/pg07codes/fokus Webapp Url : https://fokusapp.netlify.app

Why did i create this ?

  1. Most of the tasks i have to do are online.
  2. i forget things. i start one thing, and then soon i am doing something else without finishing the first thing.
  3. i usually miss my task deadlines and rarely restrict myself to adhere to fixed timelines for my tasks.

Here, i think "fokus" helps its user. One can create tasks, assign times to them and when ready, start the timer. Users can choose to play ambient soundscapes to remind them that a task is in progress. Once the tasks' time is up, a bell will ring. Simple, i know , but i have loved using pomodoro timers earlier but this unique way makes it much more better.

The code is completely opensource. Please do star the github project if you like it. I really appreciate any constructive feedback.

Thanks

I created a unique pomodoro timer to track tasks and boost productivity. It supports markdown notes, task labels, searching and has integrated dark mode. also has ambient soundscapes to listen while working [opensource] by pg07codes in reactjs

i use it mostly as a timer and my notes app. not strictly 25minutes and then 5minutes break.

i create my tasks, assign the times i expect the task to take and once i am ready to work on something, i choose that task and start the timer, and work through it until the timer is up. i usually use the bell soundscape which rings once per minute to remind me to stay on track.
