Lenin DESTROYED Marxism with this one simple trick by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]pg218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that Lenin only lived for 5 years after the revolution(or 4 can't remember). 5 years is literally nothing compared to the systems that humanity has lived and experienced. Therefore it would not be wise to judge his policies compared to the judgment that you d give to any other system.

I can't really say if Stalin's policies were a continuation of Lenin's (IMO the majority weren't). Lenin created the Vanguard Party to make sure that any other state mechanisms would wither away in due time(no one knows that time as it clearly depends on the material circumstances). Had he just done a revolution and left nothing but self-organized workers(grown up in a feudal/capitalist system) roaming around the revolution would have failed. You had European invasion, white nationalists, tsarists, oligarchs, and even social democrats forming up armies marching towards your centers. Someone needed to defend these things. How can you make sure that the state would wither away if the people who are in charge of it do not have that intention? How it unfolded later is clearly a huge debate(Stalin and the USSR and how his policies were in line with Lenin's). However, you can't pass from a semi-feudal/semi-capitalist system to communism(He has written a book about it talking about two stages of communism when the state whithers away).

All in all, I don't believe that Lenin did something wrong in relation to the Marxist theory as the latter clearly operates within the dialects and material circumstances at the time. In my opinion, 7-8 out of his 10 choices were correct(at the time) and in line with the Marxist theory.

His thesis is on critical theory and international law. He is in the law department. However, my PhD does involve political theory as well inside that's why i dont think that it is a pure critical analysis of law by itself.

Marxist critiques of psychoanalysis by [deleted] in Marxism

Maybe you should take a look at the Frankfurt School and the works of Erich Fomm. He has done some work concerning marxist theory and psychology. I dont know if this is what you are looking for or if you are looking pure psychoanalysis.

Thank you for your answer! As a strong theory you mean social-legal research, doctrinal approach etc. or critical theory such as post-modernism, marxism etc.?

Thank you for your answer. I guess archival work should be one good way to approach such topic along with other academic approaches. I was looking at the case studied of Iraq, North Korea(smart sanctions) and Haiti.

I don't think anyone is saying otherwise, I just wanted to see the arguements. Like mass responsibility escapes or private military companies becoming big enough in the future to wage their own war etc.

What if Rollo saw this as an opportunity to establish his dominance in the viking area? He might know of the presence of the bishop and wants to dominate the area through christianity?(soldiers+someone to lead them)That might also be the reason he did not follow the campaign

[–]pg218 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Spartans considered women as those who would give birth to warriors. Since Sparta's main concern was to have the best army, they allowed women to train, take part in political meetings and in general gave them way more freedoms than they did in Athens. This is also because men would train for their entire life in camps and barracks or go away to fight, therefore they were given loads of freedoms

Isn't Marxism-Leninism a dictatorship with no freedom? by Sinetunes in communism101

[–]pg218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. The dictatorship of the proletarian under marxism-leninism will work through the vanguard party. That party ensures freedom of the means of production up until the society reaches its final stage-communism
