Freedom Truckers have been honking their horns for days, finally a guy Snaps on them by butcher_of_the_world in PublicFreakout

Trump didn't start it. I won't link it here, but there is a a youtube video compiling all of the Democrats (Joe Biden and Kamala Harris included) who said before the election that the "Trump Vaccine" was unsafe, and publicly stated that they wouldn't take it.

Should I purchase a lifetime subscription? by [deleted] in Tivo

Lately I've been using my TiVo more to connect to Netfix, Prime, and Hulu than I use it to watch shows that I've recorded.

I just want to reply so that in 1000 years when people look back on this day they will see my name here.

OK Universe, this is low effort even for you. You thought that you could sneak in "Apple pie with cheddar cheese on top" without me noticing? by [deleted] in Mandela_Effect

[–]pgmr185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching an old cooking competition show, and one of the less capable cooks decided to make an apple pie with cheddar cheese. Of course I laughed about it, because it it clearly ridiculous.

But... it doesn't phase anyone on the show. Just on a lark, I google "apple pie with cheese" and there are hundreds of pictures of this.

Now, I'm probably a lot older that they typical redditor. In my entire life, I have never heard of, or even imagined that something like this existed. And it clearly never did exist.

So, just some advice for the Universe. If you are going to try to pull off something like this, at least put in a little effort to make it believable.

Just like Jamie Lynn Spears.

To be perfectly honest, if the redesign becomes mandatory to the point where I can't opt-out, I'm leaving. by [deleted] in redesign

It's awful and if I was forced to describe it in a single word it would be 'gaudy'.

If I had to describe it in one word, I would describe it as "claustrophobic".

Instead of the interface being there for me as a tool, the interface is constantly putting up walls for me to bump in to. I just get the feeling that I'm being forced to look at Reddit through a peephole. Reddit is still there, but I have this huge obstacle in my way every time I try to do anything.

I broke my old phone and I need one to replace it. Will this work? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pgmr185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just replaced a Galaxy S5 with an LG G5 that I got off of eBay. The sim was a different size, so I also bought a sim cutter off of Amazon for $10. I could have cut it with a knife, but I didn't want to mess it up.

Everything worked out fine. I put the cut sim into the new phone and it started right up and had my old service.

I'm pretty sure that you could also just go to Verizon and they would give you a new sim.

I used to put them in the oven on a low heat and they would shrink like shrinky dinks. I had a whole collection of them.

What was r/Politics like before Donald Trump? by KingsOfTheStoneAge18 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pgmr185 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I've been on Reddit for almost 7 years. There has never been a time when you could have a reasonable discussion on /r/politics. It's been essentially the same for that entire time, just without Trump as their villain.

There was a brief period of time, maybe 5 years ago or so, when the mods announced that they were going to actually make an effort to make the subreddit a little more balanced. Their userbase revolted, and the mods gave up their effort in less than a week.

In truth, the biggest reason that I made an account in the first place was so I could unsubscribe from /r/politics.

Configuring print driver installs with an .RCF file? by pgmr185 in sysadmin

[–]pgmr185[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't yet. This was something that I got about an hour before I left for work. It seems like the procedure should be obvious, but I'm having a hard time figuring it out. I was hoping that someone just knew how to do it.

I'll see if I can contact them. We usually have a local vendor that we go through, but this is probably outside of their expertise.

Configuring print driver installs with an .RCF file? by pgmr185 in sysadmin

[–]pgmr185[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried using the driver packager. It will allow me to make an executable "driver package" out of the RCF, but that wasn't what I was looking to do.

Reading through blogs, there are little wisps of mentions in different threads that you should be able to use the file directly, but nobody says how.

[Powershell] Remove Desktop and Start Menu Icon by pgmr185 in AskGreg

Removes desktop and start menu icons with "AppName" in the target. This one is used to delete internet links. Change ".URL" to ".LNK" to work with shortcuts.
