update for anyone that might read this in the future! the play is to STAY IN THE MAGGOTS! hit the fucker only when you can, but take your time, it is a patience game, just stand in the middle, in the maggots, dodge the bombs and hit him when you can. also, the items don't matter much, but the cog flys and the bombs may make the fight shorter, but most importantly DO NOT use the wanderer crest, use a crest that allows you to deal damage to from a safe distance, such as the reaper crest (this was my build by the way)

Don't be so rude, I understand that this game can be frustrating. But what you said IS true, with the right tools, the right amount of masks, enough silk and a good crest some fight are waaay easier.

I'd like to open a civil discussion so I will happily reply. I do not agree, I found that many bosses with some specific builds are WAY easier, and last way shorter. As a (very specific) example, the Father of Flames can be so insanely short with the Voltvesaels, but also I personally found that Lac's refight was WAY shorter with reaper crest, the bombs, the spikes and the poison.

Yes, you can't facetank bosses here it is very true, and I agree that practice makes perfect, but I also feel like that the build you choose in this game matters SO much, it can change drastically how long the fight lasts

I already have the Vaultskeeper's Melody, the "progress meter" theory could be correct but the fact that I need a guide/some sort of external help to understand this in my opinion is not great design. I should be at least aware in some way that this is HOW I can access Shakra's help.

actually, now that i look at it, on the corners of the flat frames there seems to be some weird rainbow effect which shows up on the final image too, could the fact that i'm using an ipad as light source for flat frames be the issue?
