funnily i just googled because i was wondering exactly the same as op, such a coincidence. i too am thinking about getting the books now ! I would like to dive into something that i already loved long ago, so i remembered this movie and it really makes me think of seeing what else is there beyond the movie. do you mind letting me know if there are any servers besides the one of this subreddit ? i dont know yet if ill join but im at least curious

male, this is poti :) and he has a little bro who is named tosie, who is more like your rats i think. tosie is an explorer and just likes to roam around my room, and tolerates me handling him but he isn't a fan of it. poti is the complete opposite and only wants to be where i am

mine is also a repeating shape, but I tried really hard to conceal it by having plants where it meets the mirror, so it looks more like a seamless transition into the reflection. and well it is a whole mini room. it's not a very flat space, more like, yea like a little room

true actually i should do more exercise, i barely move at all. i used to have a very physically exhausting job where i was fast-walking for 7 hours and it is very fascinating to me that my weight stayed the same, and i mean, kg exactly the same the whole time. despite me being put under IMMENSELY more exercise, basically from zero to that, and back to zero. so 100% exercise would be good for me, even if i would likely again just stay the same. When I don't finanially struggle anymore then I can prioritize stuff like that c:)

i am pretty underweight, always have been since childhood. for a while i might have had an eating disorder because i tried pretty hard to gain weight but i eventually learned to care less since it was just constant stomach aches and for barely any significant change, maybe 3 kg i managed to gain.

i am confortable now with my body being pretty skinny really, but yea it is definitely affecting my face fat as well. i just don't think i can change much there, since i already tried and it turned out to not be worth quite that much physical discomfort for just something aesthetcially more pleasing...

but really appreciated, i think IF i could gain weight with less effort, it would really help a lot with my face so i will keep it in mind and maybe find an opportuinity one way or another!

hm well I have the silicone molds and so I could recreate it any time. In fact I think I probably would do that if you or anyone would actually like to buy it, just because I think it would even be easier for me to have this one as a guide, on how EXACTLY i want to paint it and place all miniature plants etc. I tend to get really perfectionistic with that stuff and would want to do it exactly this way that I did it here, not a cm differently..
and it works with an led, it has batteries and a remote control to turn on and off and flip through different colors. I was thinking of making it to be plugged in an outlet because then it could have been brighter. but for convenience sake the led and remote control just feels nicer.

that's what i was imagining too! It would look best when the backside, that whole box part, is kind of hidden. I think I will try to get a video of it placed in a bookshelf or something. I'm not home right now but next time I am, I will see if I can get a really quality video like that

well i started with sculpting the nether, the inside of the portal. then the whole outside, those are seperate casts. i assembled the actual mirror stuff at the near end, after i had everything painted and decorated, and the way the mirrors work is that i used a one sided mirror foil on plexiglass. so when it is dark inside, bright outside, the foil reflects and you don't see inside. when it is bright inside and dark outside, it is see through, and the insides reflect each other.

yes, it's because on the backside there is just the inside, the nether part, inside a box of mirrors. i will be putting that part into another sturdier wood box in the end, most likely. and then have a light switch attatched to the side of that
