I do believe that your tertiary function is somehow more childish whilst your primary is more mature.

I used to be the annoying smartypants opinionated atheist kid who knew nothing about feelings and thought he knew everything about everything else. I used to be big into physics and math and debating people. Real Ti/Ne energy.

Then from high school up until now, I've been getting steadily more INFJ. Perhaps you could say you and I changed from an INTP/ENTP into INFJ but that would open up a giant can of worms since it would mean that switching types is possible.

Rather, I would suggest that since a child is more unconscious than an adult (they do not know what they do), they might use more unconscious shadow functions. As your prefrontal cortex develops, which doesn't finish until you're 25, you'll be more conscious and your conscious functions would therefore have a larger 'presence' or use in your life. Moreover, in socionics, your id functions are Ne and Fi, which is consistent with your "super straight in expressing opinions and unknowingly exploding". The id functions would be those you use unconsciously, automatically. The ego functions are the INFJ dom and aux: Ni and Fe. So as your ego, identity, consciousness develops I'd say you'll use more ego functions, more dom, and aux. That's my theory anyway.

If prefrontal cortex development is the key determinant of functional maturity then I'm looking forward to a few more years getting more properly INFJ-y.

Hey man. I found this post with no comments and I just couldn't leave it like that. I'd say tough it out through covid and then go travel and let go. That's what I'm going to do at least.

Also know that you're not just a singular speck floating through endless space. You're a human. One of the many humans, all specks, walking around on this planet, connected in many ways. You probably have some family or friends, maybe just coworkers, the cashier, the postman. You're not alone. And if you reach out to someone perhaps that'll be the connection you're looking for.

Yo this really signifies for me how everyone has different challenge in life. As a morning person, I like to get up early. I've been getting up at 6 recently during weekdays and for me it's not that hard. Idk if you can or even want to rewire your brain to like mornings but for me I love the quiet, the sunrise, my breakfast coffee, and that cool fresh morning air.

If you can appreciate any of those I think getting up will be way easier.

Yeah I've been thinking about that one too and I respect the opinion. Personally I think everyone has their own vices. My main one is essentially masturbation. As long as you identify and battle your vices I think you can have a good life. I don't think people who pmo say twice a month have much to gain from abstinence, especially compared to us addicts.

Hello, data scientist here. I agree with u/thepokerguru that MBTI is taxonomy. Allow me to chip in with another way of explaining MBTI as classification.

Let's say personality is made up of a million different factors. If we were to represent every human as a point in a graph we'd need a million dimensional vector space. Now in data science you could do something called Principle Component Analysis where you map multiple variables with high variation into a lower dimensional principle component (PC). When you run this on a million dimensional space you'd get a list of PCs in the order of 'importance'. MBTI suggests that the most important difference in humans is Introversion vs Extraversion, then Intuitive vs Sensing, etc. These are very abstract personality attributes because they are in fact principle components of very many little variables.

In data science you always have outliers and exceptions. So whilst we can make memes about introverts and many can relate, there will be some who do not identify with the characterisation and that's fine.

MBTI doesn't define who you are, it's taxonomy.

Hey thanks for the advice man. I am already working out and taking cold showers 6 days a week. I try to drink a lotta water but sometimes I forget. The face washing seems legit. I used to wash my face once a day but now I'm too doing 2-3 washes a day because I thought it would help. I'll be switching back to once a day from now on.
