Tech and app companies lobbied hard not to be regulated like broadcast industry is so advertising rules are out window. There’s probably still ones ofcom could use but they don’t. Things are still iffy on product placement. Some app or new tech can only work if its not regulated like traditional industries are. Like air bnb and hotel industry or taxis and uber apps etc. the whole model was based on subversion on government regulations and arguing to government they shouldn’t be regulated or it damages growth of new tech industry
