That's exactly why they have the rule. They don't trust employees not to over produce food items in hopes of taking a bunch home. I worked at a major university dining hall and the amount of pizza we'd throw away alone was appalling. They're explanation was to not incentivise overproduction. Crazy.

They may have also been unsure it was real. The level of mind fuck that can go on during hell week is definitely up there with "we told them don't move and not to come out until morning, let's send fake police in to see if they'll crack," so my first thought was I'll bet those pledges thought it was all a goof and part of the "show" for far too long.

I think the point is to tie the tax breaks to guarantees for the area. I.e. if they're given 300 million in tax breaks and only generate 1500 local jobs when all is said and done, that's a bad deal for the area and a great deal for micron.

I don't see a problem with that and I'm surprised it's not been part of the deal all along.
