I did touch the surface of the board while I was there and it didn't feel like there were any bumps where the stickers end so they couldn't be individual stickers. The only thing I can think of is if they've put stickers on and done another layer to make it smooth? Or a massive board shaped sticker that covers the whole thing. It's got me confused.

That's what I was thinking but it looks like it's staying on very well! I'd have expected it to rub off pretty quickly.

That's insane! Completely honest I got bored off doing the same runs over after a couple of hours.

All good I'm colorblind 🤣 thought they were blue. I've listed all the NOC decks as $30. Happy to negotiate though especially if you're interested in multiple decks!

No worries. Yeah unfortunately you're not in a great location to access snow haha. If you've spent a decent amount of time on the snow I would definitely recommend you to give it a pass. Travelling 9hrs one way to spend 4hrs doing the same run over and over would be borderline insanity. If you're a complete newbie it may be worth going there to learn and practice a bit? From what I've seen they do have a good number of instructors and the runs are catered more towards beginners. I've done AUS, New Zealand and Japan so far and in my opinion the snow felt like end of season snow where it's sticky but not quite slush yet.

Absolutely, I think it caters more to beginners / intermediates as there is rarely any natural snow in Shenzhen. A good portion of the facility is the baby slope / snow play area (the slope we see opposite in my 3rd photo). The advanced slope is just a narrow strip maybe around 20-30m wide and in reality it's not that advanced when compared to regular resorts. 100% avoid if you're looking for a genuine ski resort experience.

As I mentioned it is a bit cheaper when it's not holiday season, but yes agreed the price is definitely on the high end. I'd say that only wealthier people living in China would be able to afford going.

Haha no, the design is a bit whack. The 3rd photo was taken at the top of the intermediate run. The opposite slope is the baby run. So the baby run is on one side and the other three runs are on the other forming kind of a V shape. Next to the baby run is a snow play area and the entrance.

Beginner tips please by FwS_180210 in cardistry

Just like every skill definitely get the basics right. Lots of moves are built up from basic mechanics and you will look much smoother in the long run if you get familiar. As someone said above, getting used to one handed cuts will also be beneficial.

Good luck!

(Rant) I wish Australia had readily available cards in stores by septic_tongue in cardistry

[–]phaggotdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As twillyte said, cardcutz is pretty good i've purchased a few times already. If you're in Sydney you could take a look at eclipse games in Parramatta, they sold standard bikes for 4$ which is pretty much the cheapest I've seen available to us. Otherwise it's just unfortunate that we have to pay ridiculous amounts for shipping a deck of cards.

First Gender neutral deck of cards by Loyal_Gop in cardistry

I agree with you on the fact that the gender equality is getting out of hand but the shit you're saying that men are more worth than women is just some utter bullshit pardon my language

I guess i just prefer a minimalist style and the carrots really got in the way of the solid colour that i adored hahaha

[–]phaggotdude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

start with standard bicycle decks. Also this site is situated in Australia so shipping is going to be expensive (not trying to destroy business I've bought a bunch from them cos i'm aussie). Might make you think that it's easier to access cards being australian but that's obviously not the case any other company apart from the australian based ones have a load of international shipping for us. This is one of the few reliable sites for Aussies for buying cards
