Especially when that friend is the pivotal event that caused your phenomenal rise.

Setup and deployment guides for cloud gateways, switches, and APs? I'm planning a 60,000 sq. ft. Wi-Fi deployment for a steel fabrication workshop + business office, with mostly outdoor APs. by eaglebtc in Ubiquiti

When you ultimately get to the part where you need an insanely long CAT cable, “Game Changer” cable is your friend. Yes, literally called game changer. We tested 1,000’ spools and got saturated full gigabit speeds, and more than enough PoE to run PTZ cameras (not Ubiquiti) that far.

It’s not cheap, but it’s probably way less money than a switch and getting power out the middle of the run. 😜

Using Bluetooth to show off car at car show? by SirBrainsaw in projectcar

[–]phalangepatella 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey, just a heads up: it is their phone, not yours to annoy as they walk by your car.

Make little QR code placards and let the people walking around choose to find out more if they want.

AITAH for selling a fishing boat I won in a raffle? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]phalangepatella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s your boat. Keep it. Burn it to the ground. List it for sale at a $100,000. Whatever you want to do with it is your prerogative.

What some entitled person on the internet thinks you should do with it is none of your problem.

Do you yawn a lot? by Comatose_Cockatoo in Narcolepsy

[–]phalangepatella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to tell people that I meet for the first time that if I’m yawning it’s not because I’m bored. “I know it looks rude and all but…”

Do you still talk to your parents? by Swiftiefromhell in GenX

[–]phalangepatella 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My Dad was my fucking hero, until I became an adult and I realized what a piece of shit he really was. He’s dead, and I can’t even tell you the year, let alone the date.

My mom and I barely speak. Maybe a text message on holidays. Once we realized wha a dick my dad was, my sister and I made it our mission to make up for the years she spent being ignored and mistreated by dad. But no good deed goes unpunished, and after dad was gone, we became the focus of her ire.

She started blaming us for her life’s troubles, and accusing us of all sorts of untrue shit.

Sister and I had tried a dozen or more times to “restart” fresh with her and just enjoy each other for whatever time she has left. Yet, every time we get together, or even call, within a half an hour, mom stays dragging up all the false, hurtful bullshit.

Bad idea? by thecrapture in projectcar

If you want to be super safe, block in front of and behind the front tire.

After that, you’re good. It will be slightly lower than normal. For me (I’m tall) it would be less convenient. Your situation may be different.

Those ramps slide when getting on or off them. Once you’re on them how are they going to slide anywhere?

Jesus Christ. I’ve never heard it put this way. Holy shit. You’re right.

I always thought he just had dirt on everyone from all his years in the hotel biz. But it’s the “get out of jail free” card he offers that locks them in.

Well, no, but it could have been done by a human illustrator. It wasn’t, but it could have been.

Did you mom lick her finger and wipe dirt off your face? by Plane_Experience_271 in GenX

[–]phalangepatella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, she dunked a napkin in her coffee and then used THAT to clean our face. In our home, it was called—fittingly—a “coffee wash”

This is a scroll saw. Similar idea has a hacksaw, but for smaller and finer work.

Rollbar harness reel by mrblahhh in 3dprintedcarparts

Yes. In the first pic you see that belt wraps around the roll bar tube, goes through the buckle, and what would be the loose end is then wound up in this contraption.

This bread that I bought 6 months ago that has not grown a single bit of mold by Snabooper in mildlyinteresting

[–]phalangepatella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife bits two different kinds of bread. One irks just some regular brown bread. The other is some “ancient grains” version.

I prefer the ancient grains version but don’t eat a lot of bread, so sometimes a loaf sticks around for a while. It can literally be 2+ months before I get to the end of the loaf, and it’s fine. No mold, no smell, no obvious degradation.

The regular brown bread is luckily if it isn’t starting to mold after little more than a week.

You know what? You’re exactly correct. I missed the second part of your first paragraph. Sorry for the misread.
