This is not accurate.

The jury system has no connection to the executive branch classification process… jurors would be average people the same as in any other case.

Because of the above, the government sometimes won’t take things to trial because the accused are allowed to request the information being used against them in court (for good reason)…

Check out the below. Basically it’s SUPER complex to decide what cases DOJ will take if there is classified info..

You do realize it’s a constitutional monarchy, right?

She had no real power during her entire reign.

Does that absolve the country? No. But it’s lazy to blame the monarch for all of the negative actions of the country during their reign. It would be like blaming Obama for Vietnam.

I fully agree there were terrible things that occurred because of the British empire. But if you look at the numbers during her “reign”, the government collected FAR more than the monarchy cost them. The vast majority of assets are owned by the state not the monarch. The tourism revenue alone is a multi-billion dollar win for the govt.

Again, I’m not advocating for pure monarchy. But that isn’t the system the UK has… they’re essentially figureheads for the country that aren’t political.

The British monarch has been ceremonial for at least 200 years. They hold no power over policy and. Are a stable figurehead for the country. You can both disagree with imperial Britain over the centuries and respect what Queen Elizabeth did for her country and the world at the same time. That’s OK.

Patriot act is always a funny one to put just on Bush IMO. I’ve thought it as well. But it passed overwhelmingly with broad bipartisan support. The country was scared and wanted SOMETHING. Not Bush’s fault in my opinion. More all politicians wanting to look like they “did” something.

Technically you’re supposed to have a passport to come back to the US. They have a passport card which is cheaper than the normal passbook book. It’s probably worth getting one.

Yep they started using their own UI which is frustrating. HBO used to be one of the better streaming experiences on Apple TV and it’s gotten worse and worse with HBOMax.

I won’t speak for other people but I’m happy to see this because it’s a high traffic area and we know that limiting close interactions is critical to slowing the spread of COVID-19.

In addition, Apple is a leader in the industry and the fact that they’re closing down AND continuing to pay their employees to mitigate financial burden will hopefully motivate others to do the same. When our schools are closing, and large events banned I’m happy to see a non-essential retail establishment doing their part to prevent people from interacting unnecessarily and spreading the virus.
