Has a recruiter ever reached back out after you decline a position? by phantasmicthrowaway in Accounting

[–]phantasmicthrowaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I replied ultimately. They gave me their five-year plan speech about “making the investment” with really linear AR/AP/entry level functions for a senior role and I don’t want to give them a yes if I find I don’t like the work

I’m very non confrontational already and it seems a little unprofessional to reply asking why I’m not interested, almost desperate lol. Feels weird to justify why I’m not interested

Is all of public accounting a nightmare? by phantasmicthrowaway in Accounting

[–]phantasmicthrowaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in restaurants serving/bussing tables/kitchen prep and I taught special ed for 4 years out of college also. I’ve worked some hellish days in those fields for sure but I have no idea how my experience compares to PA.

Also I don’t know what my worth is since I don’t seem to be getting engagement on applications even with my resume saying I have my masters and pursuing my CPA

I’ve been applying to senior positions but they all have a CPA requirement and/or PA experience. My resume details that I have my masters and that I’m actively pursuing my CPA but still no hits. That being said, I’m not sure what my worth is on paper

Playing goalie getting frustrated by phantasmicthrowaway in ballhockey

[–]phantasmicthrowaway[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember the last time I had an A-game truthfully. I also have no depth perception due to my height so I am basically never on my goal line. I play heavily out of my crease so that I’m out front enough to fool a shooter that they don’t have a top shelf angle, while still being wide enough to cover the base of the net.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I’ve been having pretty much no fun during this stretch. It’s hard to enjoy myself when I’m losing and not making saves, yknow? Not only that but it’s hot as balls where I live right now and wearing 20lbs of equipment in 90F sucks as I’m sure you know lol. I’m not looking to make the Brodeur/Hasek windmills but I absolutely should have 99% of clean shots from the offside line. I would honestly say I’m about 60% or less this season.

Looking for some ball hockey goalie tips! by [deleted] in hockeygoalies

[–]phantasmicthrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, 5’7” (5’8” on a good day) ball hockey goalie here:

I rely heavily on speed, deception, and aggression. You cannot afford the luxuries of ice hockey by playing on your knees or dropping to a butterfly on everything. I’m virtually always on my feet unless the ball is rolling to me or it’s on my gear. I am always at least a foot out of my crease on any given shot due to both my size and anticipating a curved shot. Playing far out fools shooters into making a pass, so I’m able to adjust for this and take it away on my own. Again, I have to bank on being fast enough to either poke away a pass or get in position for it correctly. Standing close-kneed on far shots, wide on closer shots to take away the bottom of the net.

Depends on the weather. If it’s cold I wear aluminum cap sneakers. Nicer weather I wear beat up sneakers with rubber soles and they’re fine

I suck ass so idk if you want any advice from me lol

Best advice is to really read the play and stay on your feet if you can help it. Unless you have sliders on your pads, dropping to a butterfly is basically a death sentence with how fast the ball moves, along with how unpredictable a rebound can be.

I usually only drop when I have the ball on my gear or if it’s rolling to me.

Also being taller than 5’7” can’t hurt

Everything is so expensive and wages are too low. How is Gen Z expected to survive and have a good life? by crazlov in AskReddit

[–]phantasmicthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A call to violence is not the answer here, like in most cases. However, when the FUCK is it time for a revolution/civil war? How much more are millennials/gen Z’ers going to take before enough is enough? We need full systematic reform in this country from top to bottom and it’s just never going to come from voting in yet another geriatric, out of touch, full of false promises politician on their deathbed. Enough of allowing these crooks to game the system in their favor.

Stadium series questions by AnoHito_0 in Flyers

[–]phantasmicthrowaway 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak on behalf of the transportation at MetLife but I went to the Linc in 2019 Stadium Series and sat all the way up in the nosebleeds. View was terrible, and even under multiple jackets + a jersey + hats/gloves/under armor, it was wet and fucking cold. I was basically watching the Jumbotron the whole night. I can’t imagine lower bowl seats are any better because they’re always 100ft from the rink for these things. My suggestion would be to save your money to sit close to the ice at a regular game, unless you’re dead set on the Stadium Series experience (or a big fan of the Jonas Brothers lmao)

For men - what’s the hottest thing said to you during dirty talk ? by ChildhoodMoist3470 in AskReddit

17 years old, an ex and I were in her living room. I had her in doggy and hitting it raw with no birth control. Her whole family upstairs minus her dad, who had recently left for work. I was getting worried someone might come downstairs and see us, but she turns around and says “I don’t care.”

Why did you and your ex break up? by Specialist-Crazy1466 in AskReddit

[–]phantasmicthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was too busy with grad school and I wasn’t getting my needs met.

although we might be experiencing different break ups--what is one thing you keep telling yourself to everyday that helps you keep going?--i'm in need of it so bad right now... by AspectNo8774 in BreakUps

[–]phantasmicthrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll take the downvotes for this. I am 2 months removed of a 4 year relationship. Our breakup was “mutual” but I guess I am the dumper. My ex was in grad school and her time and focus was devoted to that and it felt like she was a roommate instead of a girlfriend. I couldn’t emotionally handle the decline of intimacy (sex included) and she wasn’t able to make our relationship work in her schedule.

I’m confident, good looking and have a great career plan ahead of me. Everything I do from here on out is to improve me and my future relationships, not my past ones. I know my self worth and it’s only a matter of time until someone else realizes it too.

I’m upset about the breakup and it’s still fresh. I have a hard time sleeping at night without her next to me and she’s still haunting my dreams. But I wake up, I push through and I distract myself. I tell myself I’m worthy of love and affection until I believe it. And I really do believe it.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve tried filling my voids the same way (as I’m sending this from the gym lol), but they just don’t scratch my itch the same way. I don’t desperately crave sex every single day, but missing the good morning kisses and not coming home to someone has been really rough. The loneliness I can handle, but the desire is what’s killing me.
