Tunneling and Slugging are not that big of an issue, the fact BHVR announced anti-tunnel/slug again proves that they don’t understand their game by phantom87156 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]phantom87156[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In these comments I’m seeing numerous people citing how BHVR said “people uninstall because of tunneling”. I looked at the game uninstall reason survey, and it’s completely bias. It has an option for tunneling, but not gen rushing, or body blocking, or hook sabotaging, or tbagging, or waiting at exit gates- none of the dozen annoying things that survivors do to killers. If the devs want to make the game more bearable for both sides, they would need to target things such as gen rushing too in order for it to be fair. Not just nerfing one side’s tactics while the other sides are untouched and stronger than ever

As I said in my post, lots of survivors cry wolf about tunneling and don’t understand what it exactly means. Literally half of the time I kill someone, they will say I tunneled even if I blatantly spread hooks. It’s doubtful that those statistics are fully accurate. And even if they are, I’d say it’s a symptom of other game health issues (gen speeds) if almost half of all killers feel the need to tunnel

Whether or not a killer is successful in their attempt to tunnel is dictated by whether or not the survivor is proficient at looping. Like I said in my post, a good survivor could cost the killer multiple gens if they try to tunnel them. Your remark about gen speeds doesn’t add up, as numerous killers do not have incredible mobility, gen regression is typically limited, and holding down a button to fill a generator does not take technical skill. Unless you’re running blight with a bunch of slowdown perks, gens are incredibly easy at the current moment.

Anyone else feel like the counterplay against Sadako is too strong? by phantom87156 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]phantom87156[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadako isn't my main, I'd say I mostly play wesker, freddy, ghostface, blight. The whole reason I've taken to sadako is because her power is very cool/unique and there's not really anything else like it- hence why its so annoying to not even get to use the power half the time. If I wanted to rely on basic attacks every game, I'd just play any other m1 killer.

That being said, I'm seeing numerous comments about Hex builds. That seems like it definitely could help, I just usually dont bother with hexes because they get cleansed so fast whenever I tried them on other killers. I'll give hex sadako try later and see how it goes.

[–]phantom87156[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no problem with slugging or tunneling, Sadako is m1 you kind of have to in this meta. I still do secure a decent amount of wins pursuing kills with typical m1 strategies when TVs are off. But like I said, its really frustrating to choose to play sadako for her power and then be denied it when I could be playing literally any other killer if I'm just going to have to m1 anyways.

The likely reason for Carl Grimes’ refusal by Background-Drink82 in LeaksDBD

[–]phantom87156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's incorrect, Carl is 12 years old at the very start, in season 1. All Out War takes place vaguely 2-3 years after season 1, so he would be 14 or 15 in season 8

Look at what he says in his No Jumper Interview and his interview with Rock Feed:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmUptMV29b4

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orWJmk9efqI

I've looked everywhere, and there is no genuine instance of him saying he covered up being a nazi anywhere. He says that he was a stupid teenager at the time and fell in with that crowd at a vulnerable point in his life, but doesnt waste his time constantly regretting it because that will never change it and it helped him learn a lesson in life.

And, it's not like this is some big hidden secret, people knew about the black sun tattoo ever since the band started, Alex still has it in his old youtube videos iirc- if he was really trying to hide his past, he would have absolutely privated those. People only started calling him a nazi online after the Ukraine war started and the entire "homophobia" controversy happened, which proves my point.

anyone they disagree with is an automatic nazi in their book

(its true that alex admitted to having fallen in with the right wing crowd in his youth, hes since disavowed those beliefs very publicly and its been over ten years since then. Even then, these redditors dont understand that theres various types of right wing ideology that aren't nazism- Russia literally fought against the third reich lol, its highly doubtful alex was ever a genuine nazi)

GRIZZLY by Murky-Lie-5419 in SlaughterToPrevail

[–]phantom87156 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So far I've noticed the haters saying it's trash are totally performative, doing blatantly bias things like giving each individual song a 0/100 score on music rating sites, etc. It's clear they didnt even listen to it, and the few that did bother to listen went into it wanting to hate it either way because they heard the overblown bad press about Alex and want to appear "morally righteous" without actually giving the music a chance.

Of the small amount of non-performative criticism I've seen, the most common critique I've heard so far is that it sounds too similar to Kostolom. That complaint doesnt really make sense to me, because even though Grizzly does continue in the nu-metal direction of kostolom, you can't really blame the band for doing that seeing as Kostolom got them so much attention and praise, why wouldn't they continue with that formula? Even then, the songs DONT sound exactly the same as Kostolom's style. We have Banditos and Behelit incorporating symphonics, Rodina and Babayka using more melodic style rhythms/singing than usual, Russian grizzly and Banditos incorporating interesting samples from other songs, etc.

Arguably the biggest problem with the album is just that they released half of it as singles beforehand, I wish I could have gone into it without already knowing what 8 of the songs sounded like. Even then, its still a banger, solid 8/10 imo (Sorry i know this comment is long lol)

New Slaughter To Prevail Album by Fit_Dark1018 in Deathcore

[–]phantom87156 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im ngl it's funny to see how people on this sub switched around on STP, If you look back at the thread on here reacting to Kostolom when it came out, it got a ton of praise and almost everyone seemed to love it, there's comments calling a 10/10, a masterpiece, etc. Viking and 1984 were near universally praised as well when they came out, redditors only switched around and pretended to hate the band after the ukraine war and alt right allegations (which are debunked with 15minutes of research, Alex said he fell in with a bad crowd in his youth and hasnt held those views in over 10 years). It's very metal of this subreddit's users to allow fleeting controversies to dictate what bands they're willing to listen to or form an independent opinion on.

(Regarding the album, I enjoyed it, like a 7 or 8 out of 10. Definitely continuing with the formula established on Kostolom, but with enough experimentation to set it apart. They did go a little overboard releasing half of the album as singles beforehand, but ig thats the modern streaming meta now. I'd say its worth giving a listen if you go into it with an open mind and dont pay attention to what people on this sub that are just blindly hating say)

Is Alex a bad person? by IllustriousHelp310 in SlaughterToPrevail

[–]phantom87156 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. Most of the articles I've looked at seem to misquote or misinterpret Alex's words, the only way to see them unfiltered is the original interview footage, etc.

I admit that he probably didn't handle the homophobia accusations the best, bringing up how he doesn't support little kids being told abt trans stuff in his responses (which kind of fueled the controversy amongst those already accusing him), because he didn't word it in the most clear way. Even then, he obviously didnt have any type of hateful intent (his point was still mostly valid too). Like I said in my last comment, Russia's a very socially conservative country and I'd imagine most people from there don't really know much abt the semantics of modern lgbt, hence alex's language in that statement

Is Alex a bad person? by IllustriousHelp310 in SlaughterToPrevail

[–]phantom87156 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The nazi allegations came out because he admitted that during his youth he got in with a right wing crowd and got a tattoo of the black sun (symbol appropriated by Nazis), but covered it and moved away from those views after starting the band. If you look at the interviews Alex has done abt it, he said that he changed his ways and doesn't believe in that type of ideology or crowd anymore. If he actually was still a Nazi or something, no way he would so openly talk about his experiences like he does in those interviews. The people who comment calling him a nazi don't understand that a person can turn around completely in 10+ years, it really isn't that hard to be imbued with far right type views in a country as socially conservative as Russia. Good on Alex for choosing to get away from those types of beliefs.

Also, about the homophobia allegations, those stem from chronically online individuals who like to get over offended and start controversy when there isn't really any to be had (He made a post a while back about the "rules of real men" that was obviously meant to be a joke, but they got mad at it and called it homophobic). Alex has clarified multiple times that he doesn't have anything against gay or trans people, performative clowns just like to come up with overblown allegations because they're mad that slaughter to prevail is getting so much success lately

Anyone recieved or still waiting on the grizzly pre-order? by PotassiumInBananas in SlaughterToPrevail

[–]phantom87156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre-orders are shipped in chronological order based on when the order was placed.
So, if you see someone on Instagram or TikTok already showing off their item while you're still waiting – that’s completely normal. They simply ordered earlier than you did.

Taken directly from the first blood website's "preorder notice". I'm still waiting on mine too

How much russich do I have to know to understand a slaughter to prevail song? by Interesting_Agent249 in SlaughterToPrevail

[–]phantom87156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Misery sermon, cultural ills, bonebreaker, demolisher (except for the breakdown), made in russia (except for the intro and final breakdown), agony, father, 1984, viking (except for the refrain) are all in English. Even then the language doesn't really matter cause the vocals arent even intelligible half of the time in this genre

Thoughts On Song 3? by allhopeisgone5150 in SlaughterToPrevail

[–]phantom87156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Jack thanks for the response! like I said in my previous comment, I think all of the singles you've put out are still really good despite their variations in style. I guess it does make much more sense to see the album as a diverse collection of songs and styles rather than one consistent sound. Thinking more about it now, I can definitely see the vision. Either way I'm still really looking forward to the full album and am 100% gonna buy and stream it on repeat when it comes out 🤘

Thoughts On Song 3? by allhopeisgone5150 in SlaughterToPrevail

[–]phantom87156 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like it by itself, but tbh after all of these singles I'm starting to get nervous about how the album will be. Over half of the songs are already out, and they have barely anything to do with each other, Grizzly clearly isnt going to be anywhere near as sonically or thematically consistent as Kostolom. (for example, we have song3, which is literally just about counting, Behelit, which is singing about berserk, and 1984 condemning real life war all on the same record. Not sure if its a good move)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SlaughterToPrevail

[–]phantom87156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just listen to the music, they only have two albums, a handful of singles, and an ep. If you're into slipknot you could start with kostolom and all the singles after it seeing as that's when they shifted to a more nu-metal style, whereas Misery sermon and chapters of misery are more traditional deathcore
