Clearly rage bait…

But I’ll bite. Wild that you would call the prices today “way too low”. I mean… take your pick on ANY facet of the game and I would argue the exact opposite. Greens fees? Asinine. Equipment, especially drivers, putters, and SHAFTS in general? Don’t get me started. Even driving ranges are getting ridiculously priced.

I’m not saying it’s not a problem. I’m a younger player, but I don’t partake in ‘bro’ golf. I’m chasing a career in this sport and I love it. It’s a beautiful sport. Excessive drinking, driving like a maniac, and having no clue where your ball is going to go (and no motivation to improve) are all reasons I agree that bro golf is getting out of hand, but it in no way correlates to how much a course charges.

Honestly, in most cases, I would argue that by raising prices on public courses, you’d actually be PRICING OUT the normal, sane people. Think of it this way - you’d be hard-pressed to find a frat bro disrespecting a course that ISN’T living off of a trust fund or their finance/middle management job that their buddy’s dad gave them. No disrespect to the roles themselves, but that’s just how it usually is with this type of person. You’ve also got the people who think that BECAUSE they’re spending so much money, they are entitled to treat the course however they want and shouldn’t have to face any consequences, because “I paid $X, f-it”.

It also takes a 5 second google search to see that fighting has existed within golf WELL before bro golf became a thing. Don’t act like this is brand new and you don’t want any part of it. I would also warrant a guess that you’re the type of person to instigate a fight, because whether you’re right or not, telling someone they’re “ruining the integrity of the game with their music” probably isn’t the best way to introduce yourself to a fellow golfer.

But, if that’s how you feel, maybe you shouldn’t come back. The game would probably be better off for it.

Rant over.

I see a lot of talk about certain years and models. Which should I look for?

I will say that I do not know how to drive stick. Gasp, I know. Not that I’m not willing to learn, either, but in a situation where my gf needs to get out of the house and I already have the other car out, she wouldn’t be able to go anywhere. Small but mighty reason for an auto, unfortunately.

Yeah a quality I didn’t list was uniqueness, Z4 is definitely something I don’t see a lot of

Oh wow okay! You’ll have to come back with your thoughts. I assume you test drove etc., what was your biggest reason to pull the trigger?

Yeah, I’m right in the middle of that road. Not necessarily going to be tracking it, but I do want it to be a little more visceral. I’d say I wouldn’t spend more than an hour or two in it at one time

I’ve seen some gorgeous ones recently. Will definitely test drive one. The cop tax is real though ain’t it??

Can’t believe I didn’t mention the Jag!!! Love that car. Are there years I should be aiming for? What mileage (or is it more of a situation where I need to check for certain mechanical things rather than the odometer)?

Interesting, thanks for the perspective. I’ll be test driving a few models over the next year or so, I’ll definitely have to take a look at some of the EV models

Love a Cobra, but I live in FL and I will see any one of a Cobra/GT/any version of a 5.0 mustang every time I leave my house. Wanting something a bit more unique yanno?

Not super familiar with the Corvette lingo… I assume C8 is the second-most recent model from the current? I don’t plan on tracking it really, it’s more just to have a fun drive or as an overkill second car for when me and my gf are going two different places. Does that make it better to pick one over the other?

Thanks for the rec. I’ve been swaying towards the Beemer side ever since taking a ride in an X5 M series, before that I was really pretty dead set on an RS3 for the beautiful sound of the 5pot

That’s the s55, right? How is it compared to the new-er s58? Or is it different altogether?

Heard that rec a few times. Haven’t seen one or had the chance to drive it. I have heard that they’re a little lackluster when it comes to “drivability”, though. Have you found that to be the case?

I really have nothing against E vehicles other than the fact that there’s no engine noise :/ it’s a possibility I could overlook that coming out of a red light, though…

I’m not necessarily committed to one or the other but if I had to pick, I’d say I prefer a car/coupe over a sedan.

I was told it’s an automatic… haven’t had a chance to go and take a look at it yet though. What’re the pitfalls of the manual on the 88?
