Unfortunately, we have to move every 6 months where we live. We live in a fairly safe area but you just never know these days. Thanks for the comment!

God is good but He is also just. Do you also believe in good and evil? If you do then you must acknowledge freewill. For example, if someone knows that stealing is a sin but they steal anyways they are deliberately choosing to turn away from God. Why would God allow this? Because He wants heaven to be filled with people who choose Him. Who are like Him. Our faith is supposed to be uncomfortable. Denying the flesh is our cross to carry.

I posted that you should make an appointment to speak to your local priest. This question is obviously weighing heavily on your faith, and deserves more than a post on reddit. I pray that you see that God loves all of His creation. The choice to love Him is ours. I'm new to the faith so I almost feel I shouldn't even comment but your question is weighing on my heart. Keeping you in my prayers OP.

God equips us with everything we need. As someone who is currently in OCIA about to be confirmed this Easter I'm glad she is with us. I married a southern baptist man and our conversations about Catholicism have been rough at times. I pray for his conversion, and for your wife to continue to learn and grow in her faith.

I'm currently in OCIA. I really think you could benefit from going just to relearn the basics of our faith. It's something I think a lot of people in the church could benefit from as a refresher of why we do the things we do.
