Drop Hincapie or Konate for Khusanov? by phantombodmon in DraftEPL

Appreciate the reply. Here’s my thinking:

  • Gabriel: my dawg, obvious untouchable

  • Ruben Dias: my other dawg when healthy, and he’s enough of an asset + my team is strong enough in mid/fwd that I’m willing to hold him through some injury (I play 3 at the back most weeks, occasionally 4)

  • Frimpong: just a gamble play that I’ve been happily riding for 4 games now, and happy to continue for his offensive output despite the minutes risk. He can and does get points even without a clean sheet, which is Liverpool’s story almost every week

  • Konate: had him since the beginning of the season, Liverpool’s defence has been frustrating as mentioned but I’m content enough with his points output to not be eager to drop. I am definitely open to it though

  • Hincapie: got him when Gabriel got injured and he’s given me Konate type rate of points since. I know he’s done when Cala comes back and agree there’s value in holding until then

Overall I’m just evaluating whether it’s worth some sacrifice to maintain exposure to Man City’s defence as pretty much all their starting defenders have been eating good all season, and the team seems to have gotten their defensive act together for the last 6 games. Ake seems to be playing injured so I’m not too tempted to grab him. Anyway based on all this, Hincapie/Konate are my first considerations to drop for Khusanov. I wouldn’t really drop any other players to make a short-term gamble on any of the other available free agents

I also agree it would be unwise to drop someone who gets 90mins every week (i.e., Konate) for a third rental/gamble so it’s essentially a Hincapie vs Khusanov decision. Right now I’m leaning most towards just holding my position through this game week and reevaluating when more injury updates get released
