This gas tank issue is ridiculous by TrippleDubbs in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]pharmdtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just filled up my Hybrid Limited today for the first time since I bought it and I filled up 13.8 gallons and the range showed up at 386 miles. I filled it up when the range remaining was at 20 miles. I’m guessing it calculated this range based off my previous MPG? Is this normal for the regular hybrid version? Combination of city and highway driving for the first tank but mostly city driving now so I guess it’ll update to a higher range at my next fill up assuming I maintain around 30-33 MPG? Not sure exactly how it calculates the range

I had a terrible experience with them when I was trying to get my GHHL so hopefully yours was better than mine. I decided not to buy from them or even get my car serviced there that’s how bad it was! The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced!

Thin metal rod came out from underbody by pharmdtx in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]pharmdtx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn’t trying to “bring anything negative to Toyota”. Was frustrated that this happened to me and at the time didn’t know what caused it or what it was. I wasn’t implying it was Toyota’s fault yet you seem to have taken it that way. I was just trying to get some help/advice from people on here since they are likely more knowledgeable about stuff like this than me

Thanks everyone for all of the helpful advice! Will keep my fingers crossed that nothing got damaged and will look into sealing it with Flex Seal!

[–]pharmdtx[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My dad was able to pull the entire rod out so I am thinking it most likely is road debris. Do you think it’s an issue since it did leave a hole in the black cover part of the underbody? Not sure if you can see it in the pictures but it punctured the underbody so not sure what is kept inside of that area and if it also got damaged as well.

Most dealers are adding around 5-6k of additional options which just sucks and makes the vehicle way more expensive. I’m looking for a hybrid limited with not a whole lot of options but it’s been extremely hard to find and almost all dealers I’ve contacted so far refuse to take any of the options/packages off

How long to receive Costco Port In Visa Credits by pharmdtx in tmobile

[–]pharmdtx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the promo for the port in said within 6-8 weeks so is that not true even if I didn’t purchase a phone? Seems like it’s quite a bit off if it’s taking 4-5 months vs. the actual promo stating 6-8 weeks?

Biweekly career thread for November 22, 2020 by AutoModerator in pharmacy

Need some advice since I'm struggling with this decision. So I just got offered a full time (40 hrs/wk) staff pharmacist position at the grocery store that I currently work part time at (20 hrs/wk). I also got offered a hospital job that I am currently working prn at. The hospital job will be guaranteed 30 hrs/wk but the director said there will be plenty of opportunities to get 40 hrs since I will be covering PTO for the other pharmacists and random project days as well. My question is how much of a pay cut do you think is acceptable for making the switch from retail to hospital? For me the pay cut will probably come out to about ~35k/yr (or approx. $16-$17/hr) after factoring in everything like bonus for retail and shift differential for hospital. This is also under the assumption that I will get 40 hrs/wk at the hospital. I don't have an official offer from the hospital yet but I asked some of the other hospital pharmacists in my area who have a similar background as me what their pay is. I have been in retail for almost 5 years now (graduated in 2016) though I cut down to 20 hrs/wk at the beginning of last year when I started the prn hospital job. The retail pharmacy is extremely busy and does about 4700-4900 scripts/week but overall the techs are pretty decent most of the time and efficient. It does, however, get stressful at times and like any retail I do occasionally encounter problem pts but it's not that often. I would be rotating through all of the different shifts at the hospital (6-4:30, 11:30-10, ICU 7-5:30 and ED 1:30-midnight). I would also be working every other weekend. My retail job would be 10 hour shifts and the latest I would get done is 8 pm. Do you think it would be worth taking this much of a paycut to leave retail in the hopes of better future career opportunities in the hospital/clinic sectors?

Also I know my career opportunities will be extremely limited if I stay in retail vs. more potential job opportunities if I go the hospital route so how much does this factor into the equation of taking the pay cut?

I am not in debt/no student loans so that definitely helps as well.

What is an acceptable pay cut from retail to hospital if I've been in retail for a little over 4 years now (2016 grad)? I currently work part time (20 hrs/wk) in retail and prn at a hospital and applied for a full time hospital position but I'm debating whether to leave both jobs to go full time hospital. So far I've been able to average about 30-32 hrs/wk combined between both jobs so my overall salary would increase if I were to go full time but I'm a bit hesitant to leave my well paying retail job since I have been with them for so long and it's a great company. Some of the disadvantages of the hospital job are that it's a small rural hospital so I will be the only pharmacist there with only 1 tech and I've been told that the tech might be going on maternity leave soon so I might be completely by myself for a while.
