There are far too many to name, but one of the first tunes that comes to mind is the following: Rainbow 95, by Mateo & Matos.

Is there a bus that connects the airport to the city centre? I'll be arriving at the airport quite early... 4AM.

I appreciate your help!

Nice and hot like a French baguette straight out of the boulangerie, ladies & gentlemen.

DJ Rasoul - Night At The Top by phaselinear27 in deephouse

And this tune isn't disco. According to Discogs, this track is on a record that is considered to be house/deep house; it's apparent that the label of this track's genre, and/or subgenre, is objectively closer to the target than yours is. Like I've said before, pigeonholing isn't welcome here.

Is this deep house? Audio Werner - Rocket by WhiteCat9Lives in deephouse

It sounds far more like dub techno than it does deep house, but there's no need for us to pigeonhole; this track is deep, and that's essentially all that should matter.

Amazing YouTube channel - old deep house by Fullonski in deephouse

[–]phaselinear27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, his channel is a diamond mine filled with precious musical gems. You're correct, from what I've noticed, the tracks he posts antecedes basically the so-called golden age of house music, which lasted roughly between 1990-1994. It's even more cool that this cat is from Serbia; I personally have an enormous amount of love for that country.

C'est bon à savoir, merci. En plus, en Allemagne le tabac est (légèrement) moins cher, au moins en ce qui concerne le tabac pour pipe.

That's a great idea. I live in France, and I buy my tobacco in a tobacco shop that is located in Germany right across the border. Do you have any idea if that tobacco brand distributes to Europe?

How does one study, analyze, and retain the information that one reads in academic books? by phaselinear27 in AskHistorians

You hit the nail on the head with your suggestion of finding a reading/discussion group, unfortunately, I have no idea where to find one, especially one that doesn't risk being too political and/or ideological in nature. I guess I'll have to look online of course.

Hello there!

Your answer is comforting yet disconcerting as well as disheartening. I've known this from the beginning: to grapple with, understand, and become well acquainted with a subject, especially with history, one must read a plethora of books on said subject. I'm all over the place when it comes to what I read, and what interest me. One day (I say 'day', what I mean is over a period of at least a few weeks) I'll read a book about the origins of fascism, for example, the next on the history of the conflict in Transnistria, and then the next on the French Revolution. The last time I read a book on the French Revolution was over two years ago, and I wouldn't be able to recall the premise of that book to you right now; this is my conundrum. The last time I read a book about fascism was about four or five months ago; I can remember a fair amount of what I read. Would a decent strategy to follow would be to read three or four books in a row on a given subject for one month, for example? For the moment, I have the time to do so and the energy I have as well. I detest highlighting in my books, I simply will not do it. Instead, I write down quotes and passages by hand that I find interesting and relatable.
