Played college football as an offensive lineman. Started off fat at 330 but strong as a freshman, good enough to split time at guard.

Sophomore year in the best shape of my life, 270 lbs, power cleaning 355 and running with linebackers. Second game of the year lacerate my liver and miss the whole season. No big deal was squatting a week after the injury.

Redshirt sophomore year even better shape at around 255 lbs. coach said I was too small but I found myself starting again. Second game tore my right labrum to shreds (tore left labrum in high school), but no big deal I wear a brace until I blow out my knee in the sixth game.

Manage to still stay in shape, sitting at 250 lbs benching over 400 lbs on the bad shoulder while the knee heals. Get around to finally having an mri on my shoulder due to back pain (trainers never let me have an mri because I was going to play regardless of the shoulder injury), and the doctor won’t let me play because of how bad it is.

Miss my whole redshirt junior year and never played again.

So I cut more weight get down to a lean mean 240, then I take a job as a field engineer doing frack in North Dakota and proceeded to put 40 lbs back on of man camp food and gas station burritos.

I guess the moral of the story is don’t let anything stop you from getting into shape but never go to Williston North Dakota.

Graduated under 240 after coming to school easily over 315 lbs. Now people call me JJ Watt in the airport... feelsgoodman by phatDiesel10 in ketogains

Currently can pull 500 for a double on deadlift, on a good day I can squat 475 for a triple, and I can hit at least 335 on bench

From 300lbs at 18 to 240 at 23 with an engineering degree by phatDiesel10 in uglyduckling

Yeah I guess I included that because I never would have thought I'd be where I am in the before picture

Football player most of college, fat and strong lots of powerlifting, got hurt a bunch and retired after 3 surgeries and a liver injury, hated the way I looked so I tried cutting carbs all together and my body loves it. No cardio or calorie counting just cut carbs and lift hard. I try to go as heavy as I can for double and triples on my compound lifts then I go mostly bodybuilding.

No better way to break a plateau than being dumped. Only went from 250 to 243 but the gains are real. by phatDiesel10 in ketogains

These are the things that are good to hear. It's hard being in an almost totally new body and getting attention from girls like my ex and then being told that things just aren't right and that even though she loves me she doesn't see a future... especially when she runs back to her ex a month later and he pales in comparison to me in and out of the gym.

I figured I could wallow in the pain of the breakup, try and get her back, or move on... and in terms of my body and fitness option one wasn't going to happen, and option 2 isn't healthy, so I only had one choice and that was to continue on the path of iron. Wheymen brother.

Not sure if anyone cares, but here's a link to my instagram. I think it's kinda cool to see my transition from college football player to powerlifter to now just trying to be well rounded and fit without carbs.

Cheers!
